The zero defense? I guess you don't realize this is a glass cannon build then. This is just an example of how to get amazingly high DPS. If you feel like you need more survivability, then go ahead. Another reason for the lack of defense is that unlike, say, Ashe or Master Yi, Jarvan is naturally beefier than either of these champions, so you don't need that extra 300 hp from banshee's or something, as you have a shield and your E gives you armor. You also have more natural HP, armor, and magic resistance. If you have trouble with their DPS, get defense. I'm not going to stop you. This is just how to completely wreck face with pure DPS.

It's a difference in view and style. It seems like you want him tankier, fine. Personally, I think that the best defense is a good offence.
