Nami does not do much damage, and Athene's is not a good item on her. Mikaels is overall a better choice.

Thank you for the comment however I must disagree. Nami can deal quite a wallop especially in team fights and her poke. She loses in DPS compared to APC supports however her sustain allows her to deal substantial damage over a brief time.
It also all depends on team comp. Athene's is a great and underrated item that as of recently has been viewed as only viable for supports. With it's additional AP, MR and health/mana regen it enhances the heal potential alongside Ardent. The only times I have built Mikaels is on teams with Brand and Zyra (it all depends on comps).

I understand your point of view, and i know that Athene's is a good item overall, but it just doesn't fit Nami. Nami's use of the item is inferior to Sona per say because she really isn't a poke/AP support. http://na.op.gg/champion/nami/statistics/support There is a reason Mikael's i bought on Nami more often because it is a statistically superior item on her.

Athene's is not only viable on supports, but only viable on AP based champions with heals/shields. You should not be getting Mikaels on Brand and Zyra because a whole stat is wasted (Neither has a shield OR heal)
