This is actually a good idea and i've tested it out, but in the riven case is just a way too specific case, nobody at level 1 will start a fight with a since all her skills will build up on ad... not to mention she's likely to start with which will snowball immediately in her while you only have to start, but in the case you know you're fighting against a in top you need to start by building armor maybe rush and wait for a gank to make sure you get some level advantage.

I didn't put this as recommended for this reason, and i explained it in the runes chapter (http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/fluffy-bear-a-guide-to-chase-all-lolis-301889#chapter6)

Understandable, but at lv 1, if you get into a skirmish, and you don't have the AD to trade, those attack speed marks aren't going to be as useful should you have taken flat AD marks.

Now, just hear me out. At level 1, has 54 AD. Taking the mastery into account, you will have 55 AD at level 1. Now say you are laning against a . She will have starting 54 AD as well. (55 with her mastery). She will have 9 x , giving her a total of 64 AD. Now take into account those 3 x any smart player will have. That brings her AD up to around 72. Now say she starts + x 3. That is 82 AD at level 1. Compare that to your 55 at level 1, I don't think attack speed marks are going to win you that fight even with your passive, especially if she has . I'm not saying that is bad, I'm just saying that it might not be the best suitable runes for the top lane.

Taking x 9 in the top lane will not allow you to effectively trade with your lane opponent. (Speaking from experience). Flat AD marks will serve better, and increase last hitting strength.
