Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Galio is the ONLY champion who can directly influence the speed of minions. The Majority of the time i just use Gust to push minions faster, making tower pushing a breeze with the right team.
The Set Up: So the rune page is pretty simple, flat health quints and health per level seals, magic pen marks and flat MR glyphs. With this set up you get a starting AP of 25! You could also go with CD per level glyphs.
Early Game : Lane with someone who does good burst damage. With your ability to speed everything up you should be able to get FB after level 2 using the combo of Gust and R.Smite. Play it safe though, unless you a laned up with heavy spell users you are still quite squishy. You MUST get Chalice ASAP, even before boots. You speed things anyway and the mana regen is a must for Galio. Merc treads are great for Galio, you should never need any other shoes. From there start work on either G.A or Aegis, GA taking priority. Be sure to use your gust to help minions along.
Mid Game: By now you should be ganking, so here's the set up. Initiate with Gust, then throw a Smite. When you are in range Bulwark yourself then Idol. If you are lucky you should have caught 2-3 foes, and while they are forced to hit you your team gets to burst them down. If they survive the initial onslaught when you burst out use your Gust again and throw R. Smite. This should have DEVASTATED the other team and made them easy pickings. Don't be shy about going back to buy. With your Gust plus Teleport you should never lose a turret of your own. I have at times waited by the nexus just to speed a swarm of creeps to the next turret in line.
Late Game: You should have at least beaten them back to their base turrets, providing you the chance to take an inhibitor. As soon as you do GO BACK to base. Buy what you need then start nursing the Super minions down the road. By now you should also have the 5 items in the list. I left the 6th blank because you have a couple options:
Thornmail: this is your best options against physical damage, especially when you throw your Ult into the mix. Use this if they have heavy DPS physicals, like Yi or Twitch.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter : This is a cute option if the other team is really evasive. The Gust already speeds you up, why not slow them in the process? Best against heavy dodgers like Jax.
Abyssal Scepter : This is if the other team gets wise and tries to stack MR. Use this against opposing tanks or Galios.
Lich Bane : This is probably the only item i'd suggest to regularly get. The mana boost and regen, movement bonus and MR are all just gravy on top of the primary effect, converting all that extra AP you get from MR into damage. If you time things right you should be able to get the full benefits out if it while never swinging with a regular hit.
I hope you enjoy this build. Comment on it, try it. Give a plus if you like it, give a minus if you have a better suggestion, but always leave comments. Its the only way to improve :D
