Introduction

Hi this is my guide for Wukong, The Monkey King. It's my first guide written, so forgive me I am new at this. Now Wukong is one of my favorite champions I've been playing him immensely since his release and consider myself to be above average/very good with him. In this guide I will explain the reasoning behind my items, runes, masteries and overall gameplay/build.

Runes

So for the runes that I choose I take ArmPen reds, Armor yellows, CDR Blues, and ArmPen Quints.
The Reds, the reasoning behind these are that since he is AD the less armor the better. This with the quints and his Q lead to insane amounts of damage.
The Yellows are for some early game survivability. With his passive the armor works very well.
The Blues are so that you can have your Q up more often. Along with other CD's like clone and ulti.

Masteries

My Masteries may seem a bit weird as I go 22 into the Offense tree and only 8 into the utility tree. I personally like getting the extra point into attack speed over jungle buffs in utility but that's just me. Others would rather go defense or other such things. But for the purpose of my guide this is what I choose. You can change it up however you wish.

Items

For my first item out the gate I start with a Doran's Blade. With the extra health you start the game with over 600 health and do some amazing early burst. After that on my first trip back I normally get a second Doran's blade and boots, but again this is a personal choice. From their a rush the sheen. Since sheen works with his Q so splendidly you have your Q doing chunks of health from people at a time. From their I get the CDR boots so I can Q more often. After that I either pick up the phage or if I've been getting kills the full Tri-force. From their a get a brutalizer which gets built into a Ghostblade. These two items give even more CDR and more ArmPen. Then I build a tanky item cause you do so much damage with your E,Q combo. I pick up a Guardian Angel since I normally have a killing spreed that I don't want to give up. After that you can build accordingly to your play style. I usually pick up another tanky item to be sure I never die.

Skill Sequence

AT level 1 I grab his E. Since it is a dash that gives attack speed after it hits it makes for good farming and harass, as well as being good in an earl team fight if their happens to be one.
Then at two and three I get two points into his Q so that it has the exact same CD as his E making for the amazing E,Q combo which will harass people out of lane if done correctly. At 4 I grab his decoy so I can get in and out safely. After that I max E, then Q, Ulti, then max decoy last.

Summoner Spells

For summoner skills I take Flash and Ignite. Since Flash is just an all around good SS and I like ignite incase the escape with that sliver of health. Some people like Exhaust I personally only take it if we need one on the team. Ghost works well also but I'd rather take flash. Either is viable just depends on your play style. Some people also like Tele but again I don't really like it overall as a SS.

Summary

In the end I can only say so much. To be a good Wukong one this that makes the difference is how you use your W and how smart you play overall. A good Wukong will keep his W for when he needs to escape, while a great Wukong will use it to juke whole teams around. I hope you enjoyed my guide.
