Heimerdinger is one of the best champions in the League of Legends, where he can usually destroy anyone he comes up against, if played by the right player. With this guide I hope to pass my ideas towards my fellow players on this site. This guide will show you the skills you need to wreck house and the skills to be a beast Heimer. Using this build I've managed to pull 14/0 scores and higher just by thinking right and not being a fool. The key to Heimer is to play SMART. If you can play him smart then you can play a good Heimer.

Skills:

Skilling order: R > Q > E > W

*The skilling order is not that important past level 9 because you will have your max turrets that will make you able to farm aggressively and to blow through turrets. You might ask me why would I do that when they just got nerfed? Well, they still are good you just lost one turret anyways. You can still use them to farm extremely well and its worth it to pick up the max turrets first to really get ahead in levels and lanes. If you think I'm ******ed then do w/e you want.

H-28G Evolution Turret - Heimerdinger lays down a machine gun turret. Turrets gain abilities as this skill is increased. (Turrets deal half damage to towers).

I would definitely level this skill before all else to do as much farming as possible. If you are taking mid put your turrets just behind your melee minions once they get there, if you put your turret down before the creeps get there the other champion and their minions are going to blow through it. If you are pushing them too far down the lane move your turrets maybe an inch closer if you are confident. Watch out for junglers and other champs that are MIA, because you can get ganked and killed easily. If you are being chased drop a turret and use your ult so that the team gets slowed. Also if one is advancing on your team throw a nade and try and stun their front runners.

**Bush traps can come in handy when you are confident that you have enough power to kill the champion. Place both of your turrets in a bush that is commonly passed through. As the enemy champ is approaching place your nade directly in front of him so that he will get stunned as he walks into the bush. Light off your rockets and bust your ult if you need it. This should be enough to demolish the champ.

Hextech Micro-Rockets - Heimerdinger fires long range rockets that hit the enemies closest to Heimerdinger.

These rockets come in handy to harass enemy champs. The most popular time to use these is advancing up the lane and hitting W constantly hoping to get one of their champs. These can deal into the 700's if you have a good Ap stat. Use these whenever possible when in team fights and always shoot right after the enemy gets stunned by your nade. They come in handy but aren't necessary until late game. Throw one point in them and leave it till the end.


CH-1 Concussion Grenade - Heimerdinger lobs a grenade at a location, dealing damage to enemy units as well as stunning anyone directly hit and blinding surrounding units.

This is one of the best skills that heimer has. Although they can't do as much damage as the rockets they can stun. Drop a turret and throw the nade and if you play smart you can stun and light them up with your turret. Its not hard to use the nade well, just lob it and lead them on so they run into it. Analyze their patterns and direct the shot towards their path. Mastering the grenade is essential for all Heimerdinger so get used to throwing it.

UPGRADE!!! - Passive / Active: Passively increases Cooldown Reduction. Activate to heal all active Evolution Turrets and cause them to fire movement slowing frost shots for a short time.

This ultimate is ok, its basically just adding a slow to your turrets. Use this is you are running away from a team or want to keep someone close so your turrets can destroy them. Also I like to put my turrets up at mid and port back to shop. Then when my opponent is trying to destroy my turrets I just pop my ult which usually gets them to leave my turrets alone and also refills the turrets health. Use it often during team fights and ganks.

How to play him:

Early Game: Try to get mid if you can so you can get maximum exp and gold while dominating your lane. Also its pretty easy to harass the enemy mid player with your nade if they are targeting your turrets. You're going to want to stay until you can at least get your tear of the godess but I try and wait till I can get boots of speed first. I wouldn't really suggest running around trying to get kills but just stay in your lane and farm.

Mid Game: This is when it gets difficult to defend lanes and your team moves as one to try and push towers. By this time you should have your archangels staff and your sorcerers shoes while building your zhonya's. Try to let your team handle the fights while you push the lanes because without your Ap you're not going to be able to do much. If you need to help your team or if you're a guy who wants to just get in there and fight by all means take it away.

Late game: Once the game reaches this far you should be able to deliver good chunks of damage to enemy champs. To kill champs you need to harass first by landing at least a grenade/missile combo. You should be a boss right now with over 700 Ap.

Summoner Spells: I choose to use ghost and flash because I've really never had any luck with any other spells. Heimer is pretty easy to chase so I use those to run if I need to.
Ignite, clarity, teleport, exhaust will all work just pick your preference.

Item Build: Using multiple Archangels staves is a huge advantage because their passive abilities stack together which increases Ap by a percent of your mana. This is what gets you to 700+ ap depending on how you build them. I've broken over 1000 ap with zhonyas and 5 Archangels staves. But instead of using all archangel staves I chose to use lich bane which adds to your combo by its passive ability. This item build can work on any caster so its a good overall build.

Masteries: 09/0/21
Standard caster magic Dps mastery build.

Runes: Magic Pen, to punch through your enemies defenses, Mana Regen Per Second to help your early game mana, Ability Power to help early game, and Flat Ap Quintessences to help early game.
