Introduction

Hey everyone. This is my first build on mobafire so please criticize. This is my build for a hybrid Master Yi. I used to say "You can't build hybrid. Hybrid champions just mean you can go AD or AP" Well after trying out Yi like this, I decided hybrid is a build. So let's get to it!

Pros / Cons of Hybrid Yi

Pros:

    Master Yi.
    Backdoor skillz.
    Alpha Strike does a lot of damage.
    Meditate heals for a lot.
    Wuju style is powerful.

Cons:
    Not as much AD as people like with Yi.
    People might flame you for going hybrid.
    People might flame you for picking Master Yi.
    People might flame you for being awesome.

Skill Sequence

Let's begin with the skill sequence.

Alpha Strike is a great farming tool. It lets you hit 4 minions with a chance to practically 1 hit them and, depending on where the enemy champions are compared to the minons, you can hit them for some decent damage. You wanna max this before Wuju Style.

Meditate is what will help you stay in lane. It heals you and gives you armor and magic resist so if minions are attacking you while you heal they won't do much damage. Just remember it's a channel so if you move you'll stop healing. It has a LONG cooldown. I personally don't use it much but once you build AP later game it'll take you from 25%hp - 100%hp so you can be in the middle of the team fight with Alpha Strike then run away, heal, and get back in there. Max it last in my opinion as it's useless early game.

Wuju style is your backdoor power and your melee attack damage. It increases your damage and, when activated, does double the damage the passive gives. So you have 150AD? Add extra damage for having this skill. Use it and now you have even more? YAY!!!! :) I max this second, trading off early game with this and alpha strike, as will be explained later in the "Laning Phase" part of the build.

Highlander ILY <3. Highlander makes it so you can't be slowed. (Enemy Ashe? HA!) It also increases your attack speed making it very useful for taking out turrets. Oh B-T-DUBS, when you kill a champ, ALL your cooldowns are reset (assists reduce them by half the base cooldown.) This is EXTREMELY useful in teamfights and I will tell you why later.

Double Strike (innate passive) is why Yi is AD usually. Every 7th attack deals a second hit. So basically in the time it takes you to do 7 attacks you did 8 attacks.
****WARNING MATH AHEAD****
So if you do 1 attack per second (you have a 1.000 attack speed) in seven seconds you'll have meleed someone 8 times. If you have 2.500 attack speed (which happens near the end of this build) you'll attack someone 8 times in 3.5 seconds which no champion can do as the max is 2.5 attacks per second.

Now on to Masteries.

I picked a 21/0/9 build. The specifics of it might change when I can log back into LoL and see how I actually have it set up, so for now I'll leave this here to edit later.

Runes

Now my runes.

I currently don't have a lot of runes. I posted what I've been using and it has worked so far but these probably will be changed once I start buying more and trying it out. So check back in a few days to see how it's been changed.

Summoner Spells

Now my summoner spells.

I pick Ghost as my first one. Why? Because if I just solo'd a turret I'm probably really low on health and the enemy team saw me. If they all went MIA, where are they? Coming to me. What do I do? RUN! You're ult increases your speed and so does ghost. Use it and they won't be able to catch you, even if you get hit by Nasus' slow if your ult is on cooldown. Also ghost allows you to chase that annoying little Teemo who is just too far away to alpha strike to him and start making his HP bar disappear.

Flash is my second. You always need an escape and, yes ghost is, but flash allows for an instant "I was there, now I'm here! Huzzah!" It also allows you to be like "Why is he running to baron? Oh shi- he flashed through the back wall and way out of our reach" TROLLIN'! There are many other ways to use Flash these are just some.

I will update other alternatives to spells when I'm not feeling lazy.
