Basically, people underestimate Irelia quite alot, or at least in lower brackets/ELO they do, so they keep fighting until they realise their hp is going down while yours is at a standstill.

I don't get bladesurge because the only time i use it is to initiate or on minions for smart escapes ^^

i dont think you really need to max hitten style by level 13 as at this point a lot of damage isnt really as useful. Reducing the CD on Bladesurge allows you to use it twice when your team comes to gank. Damage is nice if you can keep hitting but the enemy hero will begin running and you won't be landing that much damage. Having the CD on bladesurge lowered allows you to use it and cast down another equilibrium strike.

It's just a preference of mine and you have all the right to yours.

Agreed with nSanitty, the gunblade is unnecessary. Recommend changing to maybe a warmogs, or force of nature. Also with solo top, you get more DPS if you max hiten first, then equilibrium strike. Equilibrium Strike has a relatively long cooldown, and with a maxed out hiten at 9, that true damage does more than maxed out equilibrium. Good guide otherwise.

nie guide, maybe try to build wits end in midgame, the AS and MR make you really strong, besides, the item is quite cheap.

Hiten Style does not work on buildings but you still get HP back. You also dont need to build life steal as you have plenty. getting more MR or Attack Speed would be much better (trade hextech for force of nature and bloodthirster situatinal) also with the new masteries id always go 21 on either attack or defensive tree. for irelia going with 0-21-9 taking movementspeed is best. with this you can trade your swiftness runes for smth like health or w.e you need
