I agree with them. I play Janna as my main as well and i think this build really is not getting the best out of Janna's capabilities as a great support.

I agree with sn0wwarrior on a few points. For now it is also a -1 from me but I am happy to change it to a +1 once you make some changes. For now this build isn't really how a support should be played.

1. Mobility Boots, as a support you will always be in action or within range of action so the passive on this isn't really helpful to you at all. The only exception is like you said running back to lane after recalling. I find Ionian Boots of Lucidity or Mercury Treads to be the best boots on Janna. The cooldown boots allows you to use your spells more frequently and thus supporting your team. It is the typical boots that supporters run on. The only time I would get Mercury Treads is when I am facing a heavy CC team e.g. Annie, Amumu, Sona, [{Ashe]] and say Irelia. Each of them has some kind of stun that will destroy you if you are hit, having tenacity gives you a greater chance of survival. You could easily deal with your problem of running back to lane by getting Shurelya's Battlesong, it has a 1 minute cooldown but when activated gives you a slight burst to run back to lane.

2. 3 Gold items is a bit of an overkill especially not all 3 will be built later into something useful. The optimal amount is atually 2. Philosopher's Stone is a must take on any support as it offers both HP and MP regen. Heart of Gold is usually taken for the extra survivability but some support players don't have problems with that and they don't intend to build it into Randuin's Omen so they take a Kage's Lucky Pick instead as it is slightly cheaper and gives you some AP. They can then sell it and use the gold to grab something instead.

3. You are sort of neglecting a bit in some situations regarding the use of flash. It is true Janna is in the backline but what are you going to do say if Annie lands her Tibbers Stun on 3 of your allies? During this time the enemy team will focus them down quickly. Howling Gale does not travel the full distance unless channelled for the full 3 seconds. Are you goint to wait the full 3 seconds(or close to it) to try and knock up the enemy team so they dont hit your team? By the time the tornado flies a)your team is already dead b)the stun has faded off and your team already received significant amount of damage and they will be barely able to fight c) your Howling Gale completely misses as the enemy team will move away. Not to mention the enemy team isn't going to stand in one straight line while attacking your team. You could try and run it but by the time you get there, it's probs already about 1.5 seconds. Not to mention while running you could be caught in another stun e.g. Amumu's ult. Flashing in and using Monsoon buys time for your team and thus they receive minimal damage. It also makes the enemy team out of position to cast any other CC.

4. 10 wards at once is also an overkill. Reason is simply because you only need wards at key locations. IN the game there are only about 6 locations to ward. Your two buffs, dragon, baron and possibly the bush right next to the bot river. To gank the enemy team, you would place wards at their buff closest to bot lane. The enemy's buff closest to top lane and the top bush should be left warded by either your jungler or top. You running up and back down wastes time, you lose exp and your carry becomes vulnerable by themself. You only need to carry about 3 wards at once... as once wards wear off you only have time to run up to your bottom lane buff and dragon(river) to ward without wasting too much time. If you place your wards correctly, you can see all the alternative paths around the areae e.g. when i place ward at dragon I see 3 walking paths and dragon so if the enemy jungler comes from any of those directions I would immediately pick it up.

5. Janna doesn't have mana problems tbh maybe only early game where her mana regen is low. Once you get philo stone and ( Doran's Ring if you want to get some AP) that should be enough to sustain you. You could get Greater Seals of Replenishment to help out. You are not spamming spells in the first place. You are not casting Howling Gale at every single minion wave. If you are, you are a terrible babysitter as you are making last hitting harder for your carry and possibly taking some creep kills. You only cast Eye of the Shield if the enemy team is about to cast some spell at your carry or if you are engaging a fight to make your carry take minimal damage.

@sn0wwarrior, thanks for the feedback

I came to the conclusion that support shouldn't really depend on items. I played Janna with a very heavy item build at first and you can fail just as hard as a Janna with only 1 item. So i decided to shift focus to ward planting with the intention to get first strike in a teamfight. And in my opinion, ward-Janna plays a lot more satisfying then item-Janna.

While I have not focused on playing support in awhile I do main Janna as my main support champ. While this build is nice and great for warding there is about 3 major problems with it.

1. Late game items dont really help you or your team. Your goal as support is to keep people alive not just ward the entire map. Warding should be done in lane by the members of that lane and the jungle by the jungler. after laning phase the cost of warding map should be split by the team. No team can trully afford to have someone behind on build by simply spending all gold on wards.

2. Again your support, you have your focus in the wrong spot. Ironically what you post as being not good numbers are actually decent for a support class as your goal should be around 1/0/25 and a bad game would be having 5+ deaths with less then 20 assist so there ok, but you could improve it with better items.

3. I see your explanation on runes and my comment is that you have no real use for any of these, and while I may not have certain runes I can clearly think of what runes you would need for the way you are building janna. gold per 10 quints, armor seals, mr glyphs and hp marks would be the way to go because of the lack of endurance and you get the gold increase to help you out.

finally not a downvote reason but I think you should double check some of your spellings in your intro.
