Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Before you try this, know that I am not yet level 30, let alone 20 (cant buy T3 runes), so I just put this togethor as an approximate idea.
To begin, with the items, yes, i know that this will be above max attack speed, but not by much, and only if u get guinsoos to max out. These items let you catch up, beat down, and stay alive if more come in. You have enough dodge for your counter strike to go off regularly, enough crit chance that so you will be hitting a lot of damage (especially with infinity edge), and if your blood thirster is maxed, 45% life steal. And of course, if you choose to go ghost/heal combo like i do, you always have bonus safety for if needed, and ghost gives you the chance to escape or catch up to that fast little guy running away. and if you want to, late game, you can get rid of your ninja tabi for a different item, maybe frozen mallet so they have no chance of escape, or my recommendation would be another phantom dancer to make up for the lost movespeed (partially make up for it at least), but to also increase your dodge chance, crit chance, and, though it isnt needed as much, to improve your attack speed.
As for skills, i always put 1 in each for the first 3 levels. then i just max out leap strike, putting a point in ulti or empower whenever i cant in leap. i honestly dont know why i do it like that, but i found that it works best for me, probably because it has the biggest damage increase per level. but any way u look at it, i always do counter strike last, because the dodge increase aint much.
as said before, i dont know much about runes, so i just looked into things that would be helpful. so for marks, armor pen since you dont need any more dodge, attack speed or w/e, but choose what you want. for seals, i went cooldown time, always good for jax..making it easier to catch up or stun more often. glyphs, the same as the seals. more cooldown decrease. same again with the quintessence. seals, glyphs, and quintessence total at 17.73% cooldown decrease.
as for masteries, i went in mainly offensive, seeing as jax is pure melee dps. if a lower level, i would recommend going in ghost, but at 18, use that point to finish the offensive tree.
if you have any advice for me, or any ways to improve this build for others, feel free to post comments. thanks all. AND GOOD HUNTING!!
