@Exeter - After a good 50 more games with Jax since the changes, I've noticed that no matter what, teams with 2 or more heavy magic damage dealer's were just eating my lunch (I HATE POPPY). Against these teams, I've had great success with the second build that I've posted up now. This build doesn't do damage as quickly as the first one, but it allows me to jump into the middle of a caster fight, get kills, and get out alive. Let me know if it works for you too.

Your items are fine, Hextech gunblade is almost always a good choice for Jax and build order isn't static, you'll always have to adapt against who you're fighting as to what you get and in what order.

As far as the focusing thing goes, against a good team you'll ALWAYS be focused, as your damage scales the longer your in combat and everybody knows this. That being said, you've got to play like a good Master Yi if you don't want to be focused; when teamfights start, you need to be NOWHERE IN SIGHT! Wait for all the ults to start flying, and when their done come in and clean up. They'll be too busy dying to focus you.

Welll I strayed from this build just for a match.. it's basically they same build... kinda.. anyways.. i started with boots and 3pots.. then went.. right into ninja tabi.. i got guinsoo then i got malady.... ummm then I got phantom dancer then hextex gunblade and i was going to make a frozen mallet..... ummmm I found with the earlyish phantom dancer( specificly the movement speed) I didn't have a problem keeping up.. because i had red all the time.... but i found gettign red taxing.. and slightly let me behind in lvls ( even tho with as many kills as i was getting) Also im stll having trouble with my K/D/A ratios... IM getting the kills ( most matches 13 and higher).... but my deaths are at like 8/11.. because in teamfights... ( even if im starting last) im gtting focused..... and because of my K/D/A ratio im not as fed/higher lvl as i would like to be..... what can i do to stop being focused.... ( maybe jumping in and out of battle...oftern to take the focus off me..) ( I think that is the only way because if i jump in do some damage/get a killing blow and move out.. they are hardley going to follow me and ignore everyone else)
tell me what you think of my items... and maybe help with the getting focused business. you seem to be a more experienced jax player.

@Exeter

It doesn't actually sound like you're doing anything wrong so far, Jax is a rolling snowball in every single fight. That said, I've noticed that SOMEONE is going to run the second they see Jax jump in (which is smart IMO), so for that penta kill you're looking for, you'd need an enemy team that stayed to fight longer than is wise AND where noone has Ghost up. This situation isn't likely to happen, so unless you want to run around with Amumu and Galio every game, a triple kill is the best you can look for in a usual game.

As for the lifesteal, I recommend that instead of the Bloodrazor, you get a Hextech Gunblade for the lifesteal and spellvamp (Jax's skills = spells). I have the bloodrazor as the sixth item, but you don't HAVE to get everything in the order I present, I just find it optimal for most circumstances. So grab that Gunblade and have fun soloing Baron!

Heya... I have has success with this build.... but i don't know... in the 20 odd games i have played with new jax I have never hit penta( triple solo is my best so far) but i feel like im doing somthing wrong..... ummmmm also i was thinking about lifesteal.. i meant at lvl 13-14 you have 2.5 attackspeed... thats fasters than anyone else in the game.... i think a little lifesteal would go a long way.. tell me what you think.. and where i could fit it in....

@Ancarma

You're correct, MrP didn't get nerfed, but IMO its got the same problem runewise on Jax that ArP does; it doesn't scale with Jax's skills or passive like AD does. On the other hand though, with 8.55 MrP from runes, it IS possible to reduce most champs MR into the positive magic damage range with this build, so its a really good choice. I'll have to update the runes section now!

Also, I thought about doing the dodge runes too, but dodge starts too really suffer from diminishing returns as you get more of it(MS does too, but not as much). For 3 quint spots, you end up getting only about half of the promised dodge chance later in game.

Well, I think your build is certainly a good stab at the revamped Jax. Couple of additions though:

ArP got nerfed. MrP didn't, right? It might be a good investment in the glyphs.
Movement Speed is indeed debatable, but I still think dodge is better. You could also get AP per level, if you take the glyphs that is.

@Whitejoke
Thanks! Hope it works out to your liking.

@pandaroo
While getting Guinsoo's first may help you get a kill eariler, Phage slows and gives Jax health, both things that Jax really really needs especially early on. Also, phage allows for whoever you're laning with to get more hits in, which makes it more likely the enemy won't get away.

I feel like Guinsoo blade should be gotten before phage. Do you intend malady to work as it is? or is including just a tiny bit of lifesteal on jax good for just recovery potential
