Introduction

This is my first guide, showing people how I play Jax. I usually only play 3s, and this guide works out well for my playstyle. I have seen a lot of other Jax builds and I found that this one works best. I have played against a lot of other Jax, and recently I havent been beat by them. Granted I just hit level 30 and so I havent had time to play ranked games.

Runes

For runes I like to use attack speed marks and glyphs, dodge seals, and flat health quints. The attack speed runes get you pretty close to a 2.5 attack speed when your ultimate and guinsoos fully stacked. The dodge seals will help proc counterstrike fairly often. The flat health quints give you a huge bonus to your early game with the defense mastery.

Masteries

I focus the defense tree for the health, the dodge, the attack speed and the reduced damage. For offense I go for attack speed and crit. For the last point I put it in reduced cooldown. I realize it doesnt have the greatest effect, but it is still helpful.

Items

For items I start out with boots, 2 health pots and a mana pot. With your defense masteries and runes, you dont need to get dorans to have the staying power, and you can get ahead in your build verses other people who bought dorans. Next I like to finish my boots and then build guinsoos, starting with the pickaxe. After guinsoos I start getting bilgewater starting with the vampiric scepter. Then I finish off hextech gunblade, and get bloodthirster. With all the damage, attack speed, and lifesteal, most games usually end. I have seen a lot of player get hextech before guinsoos, but with no attackspeed, and low damage, you are going to be farming gold slower. With guinsoos first you can pretty much last hit all minion waves and farm gold faster. After your core build the last 2 items are situational, if there are a lot of casters get a banshees veil. If things are going good get more damage. If there are a lot of tanks get a last whisper.

Skill Sequence

For skills I like to get 1 point in everything, then max out relentless assault>leap strike> empower>counterstrike. With runes and masteries you will have a pretty good dodge with only 1 point in counterstrike. I like to max leap strike first, because 1) It scales well with damage 2) with a lower cooldown you can have more mobility.

Summoner Spells

I usually use either exhaust/ ignite, or heal ignite. I like exhaust/ignite, because at low levels the exhaust will either slow them, or if they are fighting you, make them deal less damage. Ignite helps if you fight and healing players, or it helps to deal damage at a low level fight. I sometimes get heal, but I started to not use it since I never really needed it, it was more of a crutch for me making dumb moves.

Summary

With this guide, you can easily take players 1v1, deal a massive amount of damage, push like no ones business, and have a great time doing so. My most recent matches I only die 1 or 2 dies. and thats from being dumb or getting ganked. Like I said, this hasnt gone into ranked games yet, but it will soon and I will keep you posted with any new information. If you have anything to add feel free too. I enjoy hearing other peoples advice. Also I am not a fan of AP Jax, I have tried it. It is not as much fun, and I fell I put out less damage.
