I would either change ROA to hourglass/rabadon or move it earlier. Too late to be of any use. Otherwise good. Where is rabadon's btw? best mage item in the game.

The truth with ryze its Mage boots, Mejails early game and then just have fun, if u can get 1 or 2 kills with mejails you will be 5 steps foward de rest.

DPS is all about how much damage you can put out over a longer period of time, like Yi, Ashe etc. When it comes to mages (AP orientated champions) they are more about spike or burst damage. Meaning they have a higher damage output over a shorter period of time, with the cooldowns this evens out over a longer period of time.

Therefore I'd stick with the term burst on casters,
All you want to do is sting like a bee, and retreat like *****.

@WaVe this is not WoW.

DPS on WoW are not the same as in other MMORPG btw. In DotA-Style games, DPS are meant to be AGI or atk speed/crit/dmg characters.

just played a game with this build and i got 14/6/10

start with boots of swiftness and deathfire garsp is amazing xD .... only after zhonyas ring, im using usualy void staff and than the last item depends on how is the game - mag.res or more AP.. +1

It is true that DPS stands for Damage Per Second. But, do you think only melee heroes can have DPS? Let's take World Of Warcraft for examples.
Melee classes like Rogues, Enhancement shamans, Paladins, Death knights and even warriors deal less damage than Range DPS. But they hit much faster than Warlocks, Mages, Priest etc.
and the Spellcasters deal far more damage (Depends on the Gear) than the melee DPS that way they got just as big a chance as the melee classes to get great DPS.

Same thing about LoL - Leauge of Legends.

But to get back to KoTinhO's build, i think your Item build is great, i use almost the same items to keep the great damage up, but you're missing some Build Description to explain how you play this Champion and stuff like "Early game, Mid Game" would be nice with some guide how to play Ryze, since it isn't everyone who knows how to play him.

Trying to give you constructive critisism here so don't take it the wrong way :) but dps stands for Damage Per Second which in turn means if you do a dps build it would have a high amount of attack speed, by looking at your build here it says 0% attack speed, this would probably just be a high ap rogue build which i use myself which i find useful enough. have fun building :)
