Introduction
- As Jax, I feel ghost is a must. It is helpful in so many ways whether it is chasing down an enemy, running away on the verge of death, or even running down a lane to help some friends. Ghost is one of the most versatile skills in the game and Jax is one of the most versatile characters. Together it makes him seem overpowered.
- Teleport is just another skill I like to have because it allows me to get places fast and if I want to go back to get some items, i'll use that and go back to my lane/upcoming team fight.
All other skills are pretty much worthless in my opinion other than exhaust.

Obviously with one of Jax's skills requiring dodge, the shoes are a MUST! Next get the Vampiric Scepter so you can stay in fights longer. Now as you get the rest of the items to work yourself up to the Hextech Gunblade, You should be around levels 7-11. You should be doing decent damage (excluding against tanks). Now Banshee's Veil is just a little insurance to make sure you don't die too fast. With Atma's Impaler, not only will you be doing more damage (passive), but your critical hits will ensure devastation. Now, I would get Rylai's or Guinsoo's Rageblade. I personally would get Rylai's first and then the Guinsoo's Rageblade because I could slow the enemy while Guinsoo's Rageblade would allow me to inflict massive damage faster.
For Masteries, I went into Defense because it is the most reasonable way to go with Jax. You don't need anything from Offense and then you don't need too much from Utility because that won't benefit you as much as Defense will. Defense will help you stay alive much longer while also giving you a bit more damage. Then the points you put into Utility will help you get ahead of the competition.
I'm going to explain my way of attacking including team fights. In the beginning, I usually try to farm minions with the occasional go into the bushes and leap strike the enemy. Having a ranged person laning with you greatly helps you when fighting the opposing champions. I don't usually start trying to kill the champions until I have my ninja tabi and counter strike, that way i can stun. When I get my ulti, I'm almost always going for kills even if it's 2v1. If you let you stack that attack speed then u can take the enemy down fast. When it comes to team fights, use your ulti right away unless your 100% positive that you won't be targeted. As I near the end of my build, I can normally take out a large chunk of the enemy's health with empower+leap strike. Then most of the time I can stun them and build up a few stacks to finish them off. Unfortunately, I don't usually get to the end of my build, or even remotely close, because the opposing team surrenders or we destroy their nexus before that.
- You can jump to your allies using Leap Jump
- Jax is VERY squishy in the beginning so be cautious
- Empower + Leap Strike = MASSIVE damage
- Use Ghost or Leap Strike to slip past the tower and get the enemy off guard
- Your ultimate skill is very useful in one versus one fights since you will gain stacks.

In conclusion, you will have about 40% dodge at level 18. You will be able to take out most of the health of any semi-squishy champion late game. All together you should be a tank, dps, indestructible killing machine. As I said earlier, I use this build every time I play Jax and 9 out of 10 times I do great. So if you do choose to follow this guide, thank you and I wish you the best of luck! Have fun playing one of the best champions in the game! :D
