Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey guys! I am afromancool, and I will be making my first guide for League of Legends. I've been playing this game ever since it officially launched like a year or so ago.
This will be a guide on one of my favorite, recently and heavily updated JAX! I will be posting many options for items and strategies that the viewers can use :) I will post as much detail as possible to make this a highly quality guide. As I am new to making guides, please post constructive feedback or ideas so that I can improve this guide as much as possible.
Attention! This guide is still being worked on, just posting it for the sake of the build! I will be adding more sections and updating this guide daily!!!
Anyways here is your Jax guide everyone :D
Before you read the guide, here are some good games with a picture of my match history :D
The only Jax matches you aren't seeing are two that I couldn't fit in the picture. One of them I left on, and the other was a defeat. The reason was because of the fact was that I didn't find a decent build yet for the new Jax. Now that I have, I have been doing really well with it.
Greater Mark of Hybrid Penetration
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Hybrid Penetration
These are kinda your standard set of runes for melee based champions, and will be used on this build.
Greater Seal of Armor - As you rank up more and more in league of legends, you will realize that people actually get armor penetration in their builds, runes, and masteries. So having these armor runes will really help you take up a bit more attack damage early game. These are also great for jungling as a lot of the monsters are melee based.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - Like I said with the armor seals, these are great for taking in more magic damage in early game and for jungling as that's when these runes are used the best.
Greater Quintessence of Hybrid Penetration - Again these are used to do more damage against any champion, especially early game, and I highly suggest you use them.
Brute Force , Alacrity , Weapon Expertise , Havoc , Sunder , Executioner
Why pick these? Well you pick these because they all either help you do more damage or help you do the damage faster, which is obviously a great thing for a 1 v 1 beast like Jax.
This improves your offensive spells, which in this situation is Exhaust. It's a great mastery because it lowers the opponent's magic resist and armor by 10 if you use Exhaust, which helps because Jax is a hybrid which uses both attack damage and ability power.
This allows you to use your abilities a bit more often which is great for Jax which uses abilities as a main source of damage.
This mastery allows you to do more damage with your magic based attacks like Empower
These allow you to stay at a lane a bit longer due to be more resistant to attack damage and ability power.
This passive is one of your skills that makes you amazing at 1v1. This passive with Guinsoo's Rageblade will make you a fighting machine! A little downside is that you can lose the stacks pretty quickly if you don't hit something. This also helps you farm better early game when your speed is a bit slow. Before the update, the ability to become faster by each hit, used to be the ult's passive but was later changed to a permanent passive.
-If you fight a champion, make sure to stay on them so that you don't lose your stack. So make sure to not stop hitting.
This is a very important skill in your kit of abilities. This ability is a source of damage using both attack damage and ability power as damage. With Leap Strike you can jump into anything including champions, minions, and wards. This skill is also a life savor if used right.
This is one of your main sources of damage. It uses ability power as a damage type, and does %60 of your ability power, so building ability power is vital for being a damage beast.
This skill was recently revamped to adapt to the dodge removal earlier this year. Before the update, you had to dodge a attack to be able to use this stun. That why it was so vital to have dodge runes before. Now, you can just activate it any time you want, and it also dodges all attacks before the stun is actually activated.
This skill is another that is a main source of damage when putting the hurt to the other champions. It does more damage on each 3'rd hit as a passive. The active gives you more ability power and attack damage to increase your damage output, which is always nice :D By the way, this was another skill that was updated towards Jax. Before, this skill had the passive which increase your attack speed with each consecutive hit, but now it just gives you more attack damage and ability power.
- The reason I take this is because of the ability to get out of bad situations, to chase someone down, or to do something that requires quick mobility. This is such a great spell, and should be taken by almost all champions, except for some like Kassadin who is basically unchasable and inescapable.
- The second spell which can be switched with others spells that seem more viable. This spell will help you out damage other champions because of it's damage reduction and should be used in 1v1 situations. Most importantly, it should be used to chase someone down so they don't escape :D
- I switch this with exhaust some times because of the fact that it works so well with Jax. It gives you an ability power increase, and increase your attack speed by 35%! I usually use this more on normal games because players tend to be more "Noobish" on this playlist.
I will be posting the changes made to the guide here. The order will be newest to oldest.
