Greetings this is my first guide. Yi is my most played champion so I figuire this is the best place to start! I have perfected this build and jungle route over the course of about 400+ games as a Jungle Yi.

Pros of jungle YI:
Tons of damage
Decent ganks WITH RED BUFF
SUPER FAST
Good farmer even when jungling
Fed enough can easily carry a team.

CONS
Quite Squishy, tho this build is one of the more tankier Yi builds.
Kinda weak early game.
STUNS will ruin your day.
AOE ults will ruin your day if you find your self clustered.


OK SO HOW DO I JUNGLE YI?

First items, Cloth armor - 5 pots

I would just like to say one thing before the route I take and is that wuju style is way batter than Alpha strike as a first skill. Why? well, simple maths. Alpha strike is 100 damage if it doesnt proc, wuju style is 15 or 30 extra AD when activated, if you get 3-4 hits off while activated you will do more damage to blue than you would have with alpha strike. If alpha strike procs, thats a different story however, but you should never rely on alpha strike to proc!

Ok so on to the route>

First go to blue, you NEED a leash. Remember to activate wuju style AND a pot as soon as you take damage and its relativaly straight forward.

Next stick a point in Alpha strike and go to wolves. Use aplha strike and a potion as needed.

Next goto wraiths. Use a potion and PRAY for a alpha stike proc. If it doesnt proc you need to sit around a little while your health returns from pots. After they die, stick a point in meditate, and use it right after, make sure your either full Hp or close to it.

Next is red. Aplha strike every Cd and REMEMBER WUJU STYLE, Use a potion when needed and again its quite straight forward.

Then to small golems. If you have been very unlucky with alpha strike procs, then you may need to go back before doing these. But if your Alpha strike loves you then again its easy just make sure you use your last pot to stay alive while doing them.

When they die stick another point in Alpha strike. This is so you can counter jungle. leveling alpha strike once raises the proc chance, so you can pretty much kill the small jungle creeps in a few seconds. This is important when counter jungling as you dont wana stay in the enemy jungle to long.

Now go back, buy boots, 2 pots, and 1-2 wards (depending on how much gold you have)

JUNGLING OVER! CAN I GANK NOW!?

Why yes, yes you can.

First of all, Yi is very dependent on his ult/ghost ANd red buff while ganking. Its possible to do without, but your problaby better off just waiting till you have red and your ult/ghost.

Bottem is always the best choice to gank as there is usualy two guys there. Hopefully your team mates wont have pushed and that makes it easier (easier than impossible)

Remember to activate your ghost/ult whenever you gank as you need to get in range asap.

If you manage to get a gank on your first attempt it makes it possible to get madreds razors, which make the jungle so much easier from then on. If you dont get a gank, go counter jungle and make sure your own jungle stays cleared.

Pretty soon after this, laning phases should end. Which means you need to change your playstyle slightly.

WHAT? I HAVE TO CHANGE MY PLAYSTYLE, BUT I WANT TO TOWER DIVE!

First of all, only tower dive when you got a lantern. The extra armor on it actualy gives you alot of surviability. Second, by changing playstyle I mean that you have to be more aware of whats going on. You need to be in range for when a team fight starts, but far enough away to farm. ALWAYS WATCH THE MINI MAP.

Once a team fight starts, its your job to simple do damage. You do this by staying alive, and by attacking seperated enemies. if you charge into 4 of them, your guna get hit by some nasty AOE CC and your guna die shortly afterwards.
Aim for the casters or the ranged AD and try to go in after they have blown thier CDs (that isnt always possible).

Another thing to point out is that ghost and your ult STACK. This is brilliant for chasing down enemies, running away or getting to that ranged ad dude sitting at the back of the fight.

ok, go ahead.

WHY NO GHOSTBLADE YOU NOOOB!???

Good question.

I never get a ghostblade. Why? Because a Phantom Dancer is superior for Yis style of play. The flat movement speed bonus and the 30%> 15% crit. Another thing is the attack speed its nearly as much as the ghostblade activate, and uh, it isnt an activate. The only thing you lose is a tiny bit of ad/ and armor pen. Which is made up for with last whisper, and you already have tons of ad when you activate Wuju Style.

COOL! SHOULD I REPLACE MY LANTERN AT SOME POINT!?

yes you should, if you have enough money and you have completed your build you should make it into a Bloodthirster. With a Bloodthirster stacked, and wuju style/Baron you have have about 420 Attack damage, about 65% crit and nearly 2 sec attack speed with your ult up. The result? Dead anything in about 2 seconds.

This more of a fun build than a legitimate build, you shouldnt really play this in a serious/ranked game. But ill make a guide because its actualy one of my favourite builds of all time.

PROS
- Can lane anywhere, MID TOP, DUO BOT
- Possible amazing burst damage
- Very fun to play
- Meditate tanking 5 guys, assuming no CC
- Great harraser

CONS
- Kinda useless in a FAIR team fight.
- Weak early game and even weaker late game. Mid is key (after lich bane/death cap)
- If the other team has alot of cc you wont be able to meditate, which makes you very squishy.

OK IM LISTENING! WHAT IS THIS AP YI OF WHICH YOU SPEAK!?

Ap yi is a laner. He can jungle but his ganks suck, so dont bother. Stick to a lane.

The best thing about it, is you can literally cover any lane and never be pushed out of it.

WHAT NEVER!? THATS OP!

Yeeeeep. Just meditate through any harass and alpha strike the entire wave if they start pushing your tower hard. Which later ranks of Alphastrike, this pretty much deals with the entire wave.

IM A GOOD HARRASSER YOU SAY?

Yes. Your a great harrasser. The way i have found best is to wait untill you have 3 enemy minions in the lane. Then when the enemy champ gets near enough to be hit by your alpha strike, DO IT! This gaurentees it will hit them, while having no risk of getting hurt yourself.

OK I CAN HARRASS BUT HOW DO I KILL PEOPLE!?

After sufficient harrass, actualy killing a champ is a little more trickier. What I like to do is make sure I have my Double strike (passive up) and then Alpha strike the champ (flash if you have too) then auto attack and IGNITE. Keep attacking if you can but they will probably flash away. With a sheen you can do about 600 damage+ with lichbane and a death cap you can push upwards to 1.2k burst in a second. This is great for finishing off wounded foes who simply dont expect it.
