Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Centuries ago, there lived a race of creatures as ferocious as they were wise. The brackern were unusual beings blessed with the earth's primal magic, embodied in the form of crystals. Their kind knew of an arcane ritual to bind their life's essence to a crystal, communing with the magic embedded in it. With this power, the brackern thrived in the Odyn Valley, protecting both creatures and crystals alike. Despite attacks from those looking to claim the primal magic, it seemed that nothing could get past the brackern's defenses. Nothing, that is, until the devastation of a Rune War.
A vicious battle was fought near the Odyn Valley and the unleashed chaotic magic poisoned the crystals. The brackern began to grow sick and die, and no amount of defensive magic could reverse the effects. To avoid extinction, their only course was to hibernate underground until the wars stopped. The strongest, most intelligent brackern hibernated closer to the surface to awaken first and assess the world's condition for the return of their race. The recent mining operations and violent escalation in Kalamanda were enough to awaken the first of these vanguards. When Skarner burst to the surface, he lashed out in anger and confusion. Reason eventually won out over his anger when he realized that the agents of the League who found him were simply functionaries. Skarner was invited to the Institute of War to share the brackern's story. In return, the summoners told him about the history that his kind had slept through. Much had been done to curb the unchecked use of magic since the Rune Wars, but it was obvious that the world was not yet safe for his kind to reawaken. For now, however, there is a place where Skarner can use his power to change the world into one to which his kind could eventually return: the League of Legends.
"The humans have not yet learned to control their magic - what once was Kalamanda is now a crystal scar on the history of this world." –- Skarner
My first build here.
This is my way of playing skarner and is not absolute, I am not claiming that it is perfect!
I made it so new skarner players (all) have a guide Asap.
"My stinger brings ugly death."
"This world is so strange."
"We await our time."
"I miss my kind."
"I see the wisdom in that."
"My stinger is ready."
"On all legs."
"We think alike, summoner."
"The Crystal Scar is weeping."
"The battle approaches."
"Limb from limb!"
"Time to fight!"
"I'll show you monstrous."
Upon using Impale
"FEEL MY STING!"
"Now I've got you..."
"You'll never escape!"
"I... am... ancient! You are nothing more than an insect to me!"
"Eeaugh! Bugs are gross! Ugh!"
"Oh no! I seem to have stepped on one of my cousins!"
Pros / Cons
Awesome CC (ulty)
Fast as lightning
Destroys tower's like crazy
Item dependet ( jungling fixes that)
Easy to kill (Lifsteal and hp can balance this)
Weak early game
For first skill i take Crystalline Exoskeleton Because You will not start your jungle at blue.
it will give yo uarmor so you dont lose hp and with your early life steal you will be able to regen yourself while not taking damage from mobs.
Than you max your Q skill because its main source of dmg.
Max W than to close the gasp when killing something.
At lvl 4 take E to help you kill red but leave it at 1 point till end.
Take ulty whenever you can.
Creeping / Jungling
1. wolfs, use w twice, no need for more to save mana.
2. wraiths, smite the big one kill the rest, use 1 once or not at all.
3. Mini golems, attack 1 run into bush, the other 1 wont be attacking you that way so you will take less dmg, when you kill first kill the second.
4. Go back buy boots and 2 hp potions,
5.Blue golem, feel free to spam skills
7. wraith or red buff NOTE: to kill red you need to have around 200- 250 mana and be lvl 4 so you can heal on him, save smite for this!
8. mini golems
9. back or gank,
10. gank (You should be done with jungle at 7th min)
vampiric scepter : Gives lifsteal and will be upgraded later so you dont have to sell item.
Beserkers: Attack speed!
Thrinity force : Must have item, gives all that scarner needs slow dps ap movement speed crit.
Hextech Gunblade: Lifesteal spell vamp to improve your survivability
Rageblade: Improves your Dps.
Crystal scapter or / frozen mallet : additional slow and hp.
Banshee's vail : some survivablility wont hurt you.
Smite is must
Flash, ignite or exhoust
I use flash, its easier to gank.
Do not take ghost because if you follow this guide you will have insane ammount of speed,
Skarner's Impale Impale can be used in a variety of ways.
1.Defensively, it can drag in turret diving enemies when they go in for a kill.
2.The immobilization can be used to prevent an enemy champion completing a channeled ultimate.
3.You can use it separate a key member of the enemy team, particularly the carry, to swiftly kill.
4.To pull back a runner from a teamfight.
5. To help teammate who is getting killed.
Skarner is good chaser, he is in rang with warwick
In teamfight spam q use your w as ofthen as you can and use your e on group of enemies to heal more.
Thx for reading this guide.
NOTE: I only made this guide in order to show players a good way to play scarner because most of scarners i see go lane!
Scarner is good jungler but for some people starting at blue is simply too hard that is why I offered another route.
