This Build is based on Hextech Gunblade item ,which ,since the last patch ,is very cool item for her.We still base our katarina on Ap ,because her ap ratios are way better than Ad(except ultimate).I Guarantee you that this build will give many many kills ,assist ,and u wont die so much ,as long as you play Kata well.I will update this build next week ,if it get some votes.Enjoy reading



Runes


I have played many games as Katarina ,and those runes seems to work best on Katarina.For Marks i go Magic Penetration ,since they give u a little advantage early game.Glyphs doesnt really matter ,i consider them as useless.If i can recommend some ,take Ap per lvl ,or Cooldown reduction Ones.For Quints i go Flat Hp ,and for Seals i choose Hp per lvl ones.They both gives you enough survivability early game ,which allows you to first blood with ease


Masteries


For Masteries ,i go standard 9/21/0.( in offense due to 15% Magic Penetration(which works great with Sorcerer Boots and youur Marks)and 21 in defense for additional survivability.Why so much defense you ask?.Well ,Katarina is squishy champion ,and she seems to be focused as fast as she starts her ultimate.


Summoner Spells


EXHAUST-This is a MUST for a katarina.She can cast it while channeling her ultimate.This ,and Rylai's Crystal Scepters pe***ive slows ur ipponent for 55%,which usually ends pretty bad for ur opponent ,as he will eat all of yours 10 daggers
IGNITEsame here ,summoner spells DOES NOT stop channeling your ultimate ,so you just cast it on enemy to prevent him healing ,or just to make sure that you will kill your enemy

Other Viable Spells
TeleportI dont need to explain i think.Pretty usefull for pushing or defending
FlashThis spell works on every champion,but as long as your allies stay in range of your shunpo,you have free flash every 6 seconds.


Champion spells

Voracity
After a kill or assist, Katarina gains 25 gold and her cooldowns are reduced by 15 seconds.

Very usefull passive ,as u score double kill with ur Death Lotus(Ultimate) its almost off cooldown :).Bonus gold is nice also.It works well with shunpo too ,(Shunpo-kill,shunpo off cooldown,next shunpo ,next kill)

Bouncing Blade
Katarina throws a dagger that hits up to 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 enemies, dealing magic damage equal to her attack damage plus 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 bonus damage to the primary target. Each subsequent hit deals 10% less damage.

Thanks to new patch ,now it scales with 0.3 of ur ability power (plus 0.8 of ad).It's no longer useless for Ap kata ,and its very deadly on our hybrid.

Killer Instincts
Passive: Katarina's abilities and melee attacks deal 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 24 additional damage each hit.

Active: Katarina's next basic ability has a bonus effect.

Bouncing Blade: Deals full damage to every target it hits and applies 50% healing reduction for 10 seconds.

Shunpo: Katarina takes 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% reduced damage from enemy attacks for 3 seconds.

Consider passive as useless ,u won't even notice it.But it's Active works well with BB(boucing blade) and Shunpo.Always use it before shunpo'ing into battle,

Shunpo
Katarina moves to her target's location. If the target is an enemy, she deals 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 / 210 (+75% of ability power) magic damage to the target.

Your main skill.Scaling with ap only ,so thats the reason why Ad Kata is one of worst champions ingame.Great for initiating ,killing,and Kill stealing :)

Death Lotus
Katarina goes into a state of extreme focus, throwing daggers with unrivaled speed at 1 / 2 / 3 enemy champion(s). Each dagger deals 40 / 50 / 60 magic damage plus the value 55% of her bonus attack damage plus 30% of her ability power.

"**** ,she casts her ultimate ,run"This ability ,if not interrupted ,wins teamfights.Killer Inctincts->Shunpo->Ulti.Scored 1 or 2 pentakills with this combo,and many ,believe me ,many quadra kills.


Items


Start with doran shield and health potions.Go mid if you can ,because you need as many gold as possible.Also ,if u get lvl 6 fast ,and your oppinent wont call your MiA ,first blood is yours for sure.When you have enough gold for Hextech Revolvergo back ,and ,depending on situation ,defend mid ,or gank other lanes.Combo is pretty easy ,Killer Instinct->Shunpo_Lotus->and if they are still alive ,finish them with bouncing blade.Complete your boots (Sorcerer's Boots).Your next 2 Mejai's Soulstealer and Sword of the Occult items should be .Since Kata's ult scales with both ,ad and ap ,you will just smash ur oppnents with them.Your next item should be Rylai's Crystal Scepter.It gives u Nice amount of Hp and Ap.But the best of this item ,its it passive.All of your abilities slow ,so with your Shunpo ,no1 will run from you.If game is not over yet ,buy Hextech Gunblade and Guinsoo's Rageblade .
