Welcome to my Katarina guide, if you study this guide then you should be an unstoppable force. Katarina is known as a solo mid character, although I have played her as bottom, and at lower levels (1-20) you may be able to top as kat. Katarina is meant to be played as a battlefield bully. Also you want to get insane cs/minion kills as her (mainly because its really easy) so without further adue, lets begin.

The runes I chose for Katarina are fairly general but there is a strong intent. You will want all Potency Runes because they are the ones that will give you the most ability power. This is very useful start of game as you are poking with your "Q" because at the beginning you will not want to bully (as explained later)

The masteries chosen for Katarina are also chosen specifically. You may tweak them to your preference, but the way they are currently set up is precise.

Start of with boots and 3 health potions. After getting plenty CS recall and get a hextech revolver, next head back and begin to poke again while getting CS, once you have low hp or the needlessly 1600 head back, to either get the blasting wand or the needlessly large rod. Then after a while again head back and get the other item and then the rabadons death cap. After this you should hopefully become stronger in your lane. Although you will still find yourself very squishy, so once you have enough money again head back and get the giants belt... then the crystal sceptre Then upgrade your boots to the sorcerers shoes. Next get the death fire grasp so you may make down 15% of tanks hp with one quick click. Next upgrade your revolver... and lastly to make yourself even more killer, get the rabadons death cap... AGAIN.

The skill sequence is pretty straight forward, upgrading the ultimate asap, and upgrading minion killers for fast cs.

Although timing to these abilities varies:
a) At the start use your q as your long range item on minions
b) begin to poke at level 3 (more about this later)
c) use your q first on a human then jump with your e then use your w, next use your ultimate, and then they are rendered useless.
d) Be a Lane Bully

Poking with Katarina needs its own damn page because its SOOOO awesome... It is easy to poke with kat, although it seems more as an engage because the enemy will think they should start to back off (this is where you seem like a lane bully) What you want to do is use your q first so your next ability deals more damage, then jump in with your E, then use your w asap... next run out, this should of dealt plenty of damage and they should be beginning to keep their distance, when you get your ultimate begin to jump in after pokes for a quick kill. Also Don't forget to shoot your Q at minions to also poke at a player, because don't forget it bounces.
