Well, let's start with the introduction of Katarina - the allrounder -
This championess is an easy to learn but hard to master one. The ultimate skill "Death Lotus" is both her greatest advantage and her worst disadvantage. On the one hand Katarina's Ultimate is able to deal 1500-2000 - per capita - damage to the three nearest standing targets within three seconds. On the other hand this enormous amount of damage can easily be stopped by near every single breaking ability which there is in this game or by simply running out of Death Lotus's range.

Letting you know this we can finally begin with starting a match being level one.
Katarina's basic running speed is faster than most of the other champs but not fast enough to harm your opponents and getting away without using shunpo or being damaged too.
Because of this the first thing you should buy are the "Boots of speed". These ones increase Kata's running speed to 375. Thanks to them u can now harm your enemies without getting back one or two punches. Another great advantage you'll get buying those shoes first is that you can avoid all common ganks your opponents planned on you.
After this buy some "Health Potion" in order to stay on your lane till you are able to afford the "Hextech Revolver". The first time you go back to your base should be when you got 1200 gold. Remember to buy at least one 90 gold ward every time you went back to base to prevent from getting ganked and killed by your enemies. When there are any stealthed units in your enemy team make sure you have an "Oracle's Elixir" with you the whole time
because Katarina got a lot of abilities to avoid a fight or escaping one but she can't stand high amounts of damage like a Garen or Mundo. You have to know if there is an Evelyn - for example - around you or not in order to avoid or to overtake her before she reaches and stuns you.

The way you can use her skills and mobility

Most important for becoming a succesful Katarina Summoner is to use the terrain around you. Your best friends are the brushes. In the "Early Game" and near "Mid Game" you can hit your opponent with "Bouncing Blade" and "Shunpo" and thanks to your boots you can run easily back into the brush u attacked from without getting damaged too.
Use your ultimate skill as often as u can but never before your enemy used his breaking ability except he's not prepared or aware of the danger he's in.

Use "Killer Instincts" as often as u can too. One the one hand you can hit your enemy over - up to five - minions standing in front of him for all the damage your "Bouncing Blade" is able to deal on the other hand you gain health points by reason of your "Hextech Revolver" or "Hextech Gunblade".

When you finally hit the "End Game" make sure you never initiate a teamfight using "Shunpo". Wait till your team runs into the enemy then allow to elapse 3-5 seconds. Activate "Killer Instincts", "Shunpo" into the fight and use "Death Lotus" immediately. The best way it can end up is that three opponents of yours died and you are able to use your ultimate - because of your passive ability - in an instant again.

Follow the order above. This is an allround item setup against all kind of enemies allowing you to deal enormous damage and helps you not getting killed in an instant. I have to signalize that this items can only help you not getting killed. The only way to survive 100% while playing Katarina is to run away using "Shunpo" and slay enemies while they aren't aware that you can kill them in this situation.
