There are 2 chose you can do and the only things that change are marks:
Greater Mark of insight or Greater mark of potency.

Skilling order and tips

Remember the order of casting katarina's skills: Q,E,W,R
Bouncing Blades,Shunpo,Sinister steel and Death Lotus.
This will do a lot of damage and usually make you do a lot of kills.
Once you are fed,remember katarina's passive,Voracity,in a team fight do the combo will grant at last a minimum of 1 kill and other enemy will run away,The enemy has falled so you have Q,W and E and your ulti should have 30 sec of cooldown.
Try killing another enemy for a double kill,if you get that and another enemy is close,go for triple and so go ahead.
Katarina has a stronger clin up potential,probably as scarra says too,stronger clin up potential then anyone in the game.

Items

Start with Boots of speed and 3 health potions.
Buy hextech revolver,
Buy blasting wand and giant's belt,
If you are going well,buy mejai's soulstealer,if not,start buying the Lich Bane,
Then buy Hextech Revolver and work on a mejai's soulsteler(if you buyed already,buy the rabadon's deathcap)and then the Rabadon's deathcap.
