Choose Champion Build:

  • LoL Champion: Kennen
  • LoL Champion: Kennen

Introduction

Wanted to throw out a simple build out there to all you Kennen players. Just a build for now, I'll find time to turn it into an all-out guide soon. First build is solo-mid, second is duo-lane. You should take mid whenever possible. More info to come.

Items

To clear up any confusion....the build order up until Rylai's is what I follow every game. After Rylai's, depending on who you're up against, you should be a Zhonya's or Abyssal Scepter. Enemy team stacked full of AD? Get Zhonya's first. Stacked with AP/MR? Abyssal Scepter. Don't seem to be dying? Grab an early Rabadon's. Your choice. No two games are the same. For a solo lane, your starting item should always be Doran's Shield. Combined with your masteries and runes, you shouldn't have to leave lane until AT LEAST level 8. Once you get your spell vamp, you can lane forever. I choose Doran's Ring as a starting item in a duo lane because it gives you that extra AP to hurt like hell.

Runes

The Runes I chose fit to Kennen amazingly well. They give him enough sustainability to lane for a while, and enough AP to wow your opponents.

Masteries

The reasoning behind a 9-21-0 page for solo lane is because you need the extra survivability. In a duo-lane,a 21-9-0 page is best because you're not always the one being focused. You have a partner to share the payload. What you lack in defense you WILL make up for in offense.

Skill Sequence

In a solo lane, your Q is your most important spell. It's an amazing harass, packs quite a punch, and places a mark of the storm on your opponent. Practice this skill a lot. It is Kennen's bread a butter. I like to run through a creep wave with "e", hopefully tagging the enemy, hit them with a "w" and if they try to run, finish them with a "q". This leaves them stunned, and vunerable to a gank. In a duo lane, your "q" isn't as easy to land, what with all the minions and the fact there's 2 champs.. so I max "w" first. This also packs quite a punch and is capable of hitting as many targets as there are marks.

Summoner Spells

In a solo lane, I take surge and ignite because it ensures kills at lvl 6. Mid lane wins games, so if you can dominate your opponent, you can dominate the whole team. At lvl 6, Kennen becomes very, very deadly. If you're going for the kill, pop surge, run in with your "e," and pop your ulti. Before you place three marks on the champ, hit your "w" and if that isn't enough, throw ignite on them. Very few champs can survive this combo. For team fights...pop surge then you can charge in with your ulti. You can initiate, as I often do, or wait for your tank to. In a duo lane, surge isn't needed as much, but you can take it if you want. I take ghost because if your partner is in trouble, and you left lane for whatever reason, your "e" plus ghost will get you back in no time.
