I don't exactly see the point in getting Trinity Force when the vast majority of your damage comes from sustained rapid attacking and abusing the on-hit effects of items like Madred's Bloodrazor.


I see where you are going with that, but the problem with a pure attack speed + madreds build is that AS is capped at 2.5, so there is a limit on how much dmg you can deal. Plus DMG will help you deal with tanks that focus on magic resist rather than HP (which you should against kog'maw).
Building a good hybrid costs more than just AS+madreds, but attacks both AD and magic damage, being harder to counter and better pusher. Plus having about 200 AP or so will boost your abilities, and give you half the bonus of madreds.

Again, I recommended to get mid so you can get gold pretty quickly, but if you are underfed you can always get a malady or other cheap items.
