Introduction
For runes I choose flat armor marks and seals. I am building Leona tank support, so you need to have that early armor to be able to play agressively in the botlane early on. Greater Mark of Armor and Greater Seal of Armor will take care of that need. Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is there to provide some MR to Leona. Most of the time this comes in handy during mid/late game when people start grouping up and you get hit with spells and abilities. Greater Quintessence of Health is there for the early health advantage. And you can't go wrong with some health right?
I start with a Faerie Charm 3 Sight Wards and 3 Health Potions. Then on my first back I pick up a Philosopher's Stone. Then I buy Heart of Gold and Boots. After that I start building towards and Aegis of the Legion and Ionian Boots of Lucidity. This is my core support build. After this I will either start building Warmog's Armor if my team is ahead or I need more health, or I will start Force of Nature if their AP is snowballing and the magic damage is too high, or I will start Randuin's Omen if their AD is snowballing.
R > W > E > Q
I start with Shield of Daybreak always, so I can get an early stun. When an enemy overextends, this can turn it around and maybe even cost them a kill. Then a point in Zenith Blade for that early game agression. Teleport to them, stun them and hope your lane partner can do some serious damage. After that it's working towards your defense. I will max out Eclipse first, then Zenith Blade and lastly Shield of Daybreak (spending a point in Solar Flare whenever possible).
