Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is a Jungle Guide to Poppy. Poppy is one of the least played character in League Of Legend and I have never seen a Jungling Poppy. If you would like to learn how to play lane with her just go to another guide called Scary Carry. Poppy is used by many beginning players because of her low cost and give the impression to everyone she is a really bad champion. She usually ends up becoming the game decider pulling off a 1v3 or the engager in a big team battle. This guide will show how you can jungle and become a scary carry and win every single time.
Pros / Cons
Pros about Poppy
-Unstoppable with her Ultimate so you can tower dive without getting hurt
-if fed unstoppable
-lots of armor from passive
-end game can 2 shot squishy heroes
Cons about Poppy
-bad lane against range
-vulnerable until level 6
Pros about Jungling
-a lot of CS
-nice ganks with her speed boost of Paragorn Of Demacia and Stunning them with heroic charge
-unstoppable gank at level 6
Hands down these two summoner spells.
If you need an explanation I will give you a one sentence explanation for each.
Smite- To kill creeps in the Jungle Faster
Ghost- To chase opponent while gank using Paragon of Demacia.
Two other options instead of ghost.
Masteries are pretty flexible. Make sure to get 21 on offence and 9 on defense though. The more attack the easier to gank and the scarier you will be late game. Tough skin and bladed armor is highly recommended for jungling.
Skills and Sequence
This is Poppy's passive. This passive is a great skill for jungling. Every single hit that does more than a tenth of your CURRENT health is reduced in half. So it is easy to clear the jungle with her and get the red buff and the blue buff.
This skill is the reason why poppy can hit over 1000 damage. It is a 3 second cooldown ability when it is maxed. However it requires blue buff because she doesn't have that much mana to start with so getting blue buff first will make her jungling really easy.
This skill is highly recommended to get at level 3 for jungling and max it last. The passive of this ability will increase the attack and the armor every time the hero attacks or gets attacked up to a stack of 10. Having 15 extra damage and armor is really useful for jungling and the gank. Also when it is activated Poppy will run faster and with boots of speed it is most likley it will be faster than the opposing champion making it easy to gank.
This skill has many uses. It is great to stun the minions in the jungle and it's great for closing distance between you and an enemy. While ganking in the beginning easily hide in a bush, charge the enemy into a wall to stun them, and take them out quickly. Remember, when you tackle an opponent into a wall or turret, they take more than DOUBLE damage what they normally do from this attack and are stunned for 1.5 seconds. This can make a big difference. Always try to set up the tackle into an object. If not go around for the gank and use heroic charge to push the enemy towards your team mate and make it easy to gank for your team mates.
Poppy's ultimate is very useful. It is the best ultimate to tower dive an enemy. Using it on one target will increase damage to the target while you will be invulnerable to everything out there EVEN TURRETS. Be careful though soon as the target dies you will be vulnerable. In a team fight make sure to use it on their tank and clean up their squishy heroes and carry which will make the game decider.
Creeping / Jungling
This is the Jungling Route I do for poppy.
> Red Dragon
> continue jungle or gank.
Even scaring the opponent will be helpful for the laners so don't be afraid to do so.
Wriggles is an item that makes it easier to Jungle for poppy. It gives her armor and a great life steal item until late game until you replace it with Blood Thirster. The ward is really helpful for dragoning, counter jungling or even protecting yourself from getting countered.
This is the second item you should get to make it easier for Poppy to gank it is optional to get boots before finishing the wriggles if you like to early gank.
Then upgrade it to Sheen is a very important item for poppy. This will make poppy pretty much twice as strong making her really strong and ability to have more mana for her abilities.
This item will slow the opponent from running away from ganks and this item is one of the key ingredients to Trinity force. Also this item will give you more health making her a little mre tankier.
Everything Trinity has to offer is beneficial for poppy. This item is made for Poppy.
This item will make poppy faster chasing opponents down and make her stronger with her critical chance and her attack speed from the item. The attack speed will be incredibly fast because of the berserkers greaves and trinity force so the opponent won't be able to get away.
This item will make you unstoppable against a one vs one making your devastating blow stronger and evaporating those squishy heroes in team fights.
This is the time to replace your wriggles with blood thirster. The blood thirster has more damage and more life steal by this time your goal is to pretty much kill everything fast as possible.
Last but not least this item. This item will make you stronger as you have less and less health and possibly help you with the 400 magic shield in a big fight.
This is my first ever guide and it would be appreciated if I could get some comments and feed backs on what to improve. But for the future I will test out poppy for more possible ways to jungle with her. But the games I played with her jungling I always start 4-0 so it seems to work. Have a great afternoon.
