Choosing Boots

Mercury's Treads are almost always the right pick. Countering AP burst and CC are extremely important.

Ninja Tabi work if the enemy team is 4-AD strong and heavily auto attackers with limited CC.

Mercury's are still strong against low CC teams. Melee champions need tenacity to get in close and deal damage. Off-tanks soak up CC to protect carries.

Armor

Armor

•Sunfire Cape works well against 2+ melee AD & adds Cyclone DPS.
•Frozen Heart counters 2+ auto-attack champion teams.
•Randuin's is the middle ground between Sunfire and Frozen Heart. Good against melee AD auto-attackers.
•Guardian Angel's revival passive is good against squishy enemies. Respawn and finish them off.
•Atma's is strong late game item for armor and damage.

magic resist

•Banshee's is lower priority for front-line fighters the bubble is popped easily. Good in combination with Atma's because it gives MR and HP.
•Force of Nature counters Rylai's quite well, heavy AP teams & kiting.
•Hexdrinker is a counterpick item against burst AP. Counters Karthus (AP Teemo, AP Shaco traps).
•Quicksilver Sash is a counterpick for Supress teams, mainly Malzahar. Removes Ignite.
•Wit's End is an amazing item that works remarkably well against double caster teams.
