Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This guide will explain how to play the one and only:
After casting 5 spells, Malzahar summons a Voidling that will attack the target of your malefic visions for 21 seconds. Voidlings have 200 + 50 x lvl Health and 20 + 5 x lvl Damage.
Voidlings Grow after 7 seconds (+50% Damage/Armor), and Frenzy after 14 seconds (+100% Attack Speed).
Voidlings attack the target affected by Malzahar's most recently cast Malefic Visions
Call of the Void:
Malzahar opens up two portals to the void. After a short delay, they fire projectiles which deal magic damage and silence enemy champions.
Malzahar creates a zone of negative energy which deals the greater between a flat damage and a % of the target's max health.
Malzahar infects his target's mind with cruel visions of their demise, dealing damage each second. If the target dies while afflicted by the visions, they pass on to a nearby enemy unit and Malzahar gains mana. Malzahar's Voidlings are attracted to affected units.
Malzahar channels the essence of the Void to suppress his target and deal damage each second.
- Great pusher in solo mid or sidelane
- Great at harrasing
- Aoe Silence
- Able to stun their carry with ult so he dosent rape your team! (DIE KOG'MAW)
- Great ganker with his ult
- Very good in teamfights
- Not good escaper
- Takes some time to learn his nuke rotation
- generally hard to master!
- I choose to go with Magic penetration for marks for obivious reasons. Flat AP Seals and Quin to have some nice early damage and AP pr lvl Glyphs for some more ap later in game.
- I sometimes take flat HP quintessens and hp/lvl Seals if i see they have a hard melee on they other team (i have 2 magic runepages)
- You might ask why i dont take Cooldown reduction in Glyphs, and the answer is that im always going for the blue buff when its up. That gives me enough cooldown reduction! If your not good at taking the buffs in jungle, then you might go for CDR Seals.

I start out with Dorans Ring and a healing pot for abit of AP, hp and mana reg. I normally start with around 30 ap in games. When i reach lvl 6-7 i normally have around 1700-1900 golds and i go home and buy soulstealer and non upgraded boots (Remember to pick up wards if you have some golds to spare!!!! important). After that i start ganking sides/their jungle. You ping on an enemy hero before you engage and u run in, pop ignite, malefic vision and then your ult! This will grant you a kill 100%!
After a few ganks you can start buying your Rylai's.
If you feed DONT TAKE SOULSTEALER!
My core build looks like this:
- Sorcere's Shoes
- Rylai's Scepter
- Zhonya's Ring
- Deathfires grasp
Sometimes i go Guardian Angel, Rod of Ages, etc if the enemy team is focussing me and i need some more survivability. Remember, the above is only a core build. It wont work against any setup, so pick up your brain and dont flame if you run the above build vs Warwick, Twitch, Kog'maw, akali, amumu :P
It's kinda standard for any caster. Not much to say bout it. If you pick ghost remember to remove improved flash etc.
Ghost: Im not using Ghost and i dont intent to. It might be good for fast ganks and escapes but not for my playstyle.
Flash: A must for a Malzahar who wants to keel but also escape from the evil carrys. Flash has very good potential both for ganking and escaping. If an enemy is just out of reach, you flash -> ultimate and your mates can catch up and get the kill. Flash is also THE skill to escape with. It gives you: walljumping! you can pass through most walls and trees and stones and whatever with this spell, which makes it perfect for fleeing!
Ignite: Makes Malzahar even more deadly than he is. When you reach around lvl 11 you will be able to take anything down with your lethal killing of doom combo! And with ignite its even better and more keeelling.
Cleanse: Could be good with flash/ghost for escaping, but aslong as you dont play headless you should be able to get away in most cases anyways.
Clarity: Nono, its a NOGO brother!
Now the one and only NUKING KEELING DAMAGE ROTATION OF DOOM:
- Start with Call of the Void (your enemys cant use abilitys to run away)
- then pop Malefic Visions (yes yes you take damage over time)
- now its time for ignite (uhh u heal nothing)
- then Null Zone (i take % of you hp, jeez it hurts)
- POP ULTIMATE (you take sick damage over time while stunned in it! mohaha)
Be quick on your fingers, you cant fummel around with your fat gamer hands on they keyboard trying to hit the right buttom. This has to go quick!
BUT! Most times you wont even have to use all of your spells! So look at the situration, look at enemy hp. Do you really have to use Null Zone? most of the cases NO! If you have to take 1 spell out of the combo it's that one. Unless ur killing a tough tank! then its better to take % than a tiny silence. Again: LOOK AT THE SITURATION and use your brain!
Im not going to go into details about early, mid and late game. But i will go fast over it.
Farm, farm, farm. Dont waste too much mana on enemy hero unless he begs for a beating. use malefic vision on creeps and then hit that creep so it bounces! This will give you endless mana and maybe more important: Golds!
You should now be lvl 6-8 and have soulstealer (maybe some boots also) and you start ganking. Do as said in the guide to keeel the enemys!
You always stay behind the fat tanks. Dont initiate, unless there is some ******et master yi running in your face begging to get your ult in his face! Stay behind, be ready to pop Zhonya's if they focus you. Else just stay behind, pop all your abilitys (save ult for their carry) and you will boooom them. Simple as.
This is my guide. Try it out before you give me minus feedback and tell me if you have anything you find bad/gay/****sexuel/wrong/******et etc!
