its a good guide, but if you find yourself ganking a lot or in the jungle a lot, you will find aura items that will alert the enemy(for example abbysal scepter) are not very good. However I have noticed that most people don't notice the aura debuff, but then again you are a support tank, and aura is a good way of supporting. Still a good guide!

I have considered rabadon's but I feel aegis lets him be tankier mid game and this build is for tank maokai. I will add rabadons to situational for the people who prefer more damage. Thank you for the suggestion!

however i have to disagree when you say mao's ult isn't very good, it lowers the damage to all allied champs in it by 20%, that can save a lot of your squishy's lives

sry if i was a bit unclear. I meant it wasn't very good damage wise. Thank you for pointing out the lack of clarity. I will change that to mention its powerful support uses.
