Master Yi Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hi. This is the best Yi build ever. Why? Because Doran's items are so cheap! You can finish it within minutes and pwn all those noobs! In fact, against Beginner AI bots, I went 8/0/7 before the game's end. While my lane partner went something worse using a non-doran build! Stupid Lee sin, you need mana to be effective with doran's ring.
Pros / Cons
- Nothing. Doran's items are impervious to flaws.
- Master Yi steamrolls
- Games become too easy
- You see all the gold you have ingame, realize that you're not so successful in life, and then become depressed.
- Not enough avarice runes, more depressing. (see below)
Greater Quint of Avarice, because you want that farm without farming. You also finish this build about 1 minute faster than without them.
You want to get the others because they're kinda good somehow. I think they help you with being survivable, but I don't like runes. I actually don't use anything but the quint, I have about 9 of those avarice ones. I thought I would be able to use them all, but I guess not. Unfortunately, I now have nothing else for my Yi build as far as a rune set. I would really prefer putting all avarice items in, but I can't. This depresses me. I should put that as a con. ^
I went 10-11-9. Starting with the offensive tree here's why:
I like exhausting people. So if i hit them, I exhaust them. It's good. Then, I like AP because I can heal. and it's PER LEVEL. It stacks so much. Next up are cooldowns, because every Yi wants to be able to spam his ult early game. Then magic pen, because I think it does something useful for MAster Yi in some sort of ability. Maybe it makes his W more potent with its heal? Then lastly, you want to screw with your enemy just a tiny bit so you get 2 armor pen.
In the defense tree we go for survivability. I like being able to take all the mages' nukes. So I get MR. Then I put a point in revive because you are better with it than without it. Then, health regen is good because as Yi you have so much that your health never goes down ever. Next we use dodge chance because it ALWAYS activates in the most crucial moment if you are near death, which you never are anyway. It never hurts to have it though just in case. The next point makes you move faster after you dodge, so your ult kicks into overtime. Minions are *****es, so i put a point in defense against them. Then they don't hurt you at all. And then even more you put a point on block physical damage. No one can hurt you either. Idk why riot even allows these. They make you invincible.
Next, you want to spend less time dead, so you put a point into being alive. This stacks with revive, so you're actually dead for a negative amount of time. Once that point is in, put 3 into health and mana regen. It helps. After that you want to gain experience faster, so you get 4 of those. Then you should get buffs always and whenever you're not dead for a negative amount of time, so there is a point in the buff duration.
Dorans items are good. They just are. And cheap. Things like Trinity Force or Infinity Edge are a waste of money. They don't give enough of a benefit. And then they make you broke for gold. Think of the game this way: you save for retirement (the game ending) then use the gold ingame to buy items (seeing as gold converts to IP at the end ). Then I steamroll the next game with the same build and get more IP to spend on more Quints of Avarice. This cycle continues and I become an internet hoarder.
I choose two blades for the extra lifesteal and the shields for more armor. But all give health. And the Ring gives goood heal for Yi's W.
Boots of gank are the only boots Yi can use. Other books just physically do not fit him well. If we were to size Yi's feet, they look to be about a 14 1/3 shoes size in US sizing. The only book that fit have the movement speed 5 passive. Biggest number for bigger feet. It makes sense right?
Optional: Now that Merc Treads have the same tenacity as things such as Cloak and Dagger and Elasia's Miracle, your enemy will never see Merc Treads coming. This will help you to not die from enemies that are casters, as well as make you the better tank than your tanks, which I rage about below. Mercs = win in new meta of not using mercs.
Ult first, always. Once that is maxed you win. I hear people whine all the time about it. They don't even realize I can't get it until level 6. Noobs. I trick them all with my skill sequence.
Then damage because that is very nice. Next you want heal because by this level you should have the ring and you become a tank for your team. Then alpha strike to initiate the teamfights. Let's be honest, your tanks aren't as good as you are. So why are they starting fights? Well, mostly because somehow the current meta game says so. I think the longer the carry is in the fight, the more damage he does. **** tanks. They just stand there and take damage. How ****ing useless is that?
An undead Yi is a terrifying Yi. Go grazy. Then keep your towers from dying. This is an impervious SS setup. No one can figure out why you would do it either, so they can't figure out how to counter it. Other good SS comes from the Mid-40's in the 3rd Reich. They were good soldiers, unlike your allies on LoL. ****ing ******s everywhere. Especially you if you don't use this guide.
This guide is perfect. Be warned, you will be called OP. Then you just say to them "you can't auto-attack as hard as I can". Or, you will be called a noob. Mostly the OP though.
GL HF; and you all suck.
