Introduction and Basic Information

Master Yi - Beginners Best Friend. Master Yi is easy to learn and can deal lots of damage. Late game Master Yi can be very deadly and will kill every champion on its way. This build is mostly for beginners, but advanced players can use this build too.

First of all, I want to say, this is my first League of Legends champion guide. I will not tell about jungling with Master Yi on this guide. I know that some people can't acquire Greater runes, so feel free to use Lesser/Normal runes. Hope you like!

Lore:
Keeper of the ancient art of Wuju, Master Yi is a mystical warrior from the isle of Ionia. He descended from one of the few tribes dedicated to the preservation of Wuju, a martial art founded with the principles of absolute spiritual awareness of one's self and one's enemy. When the armies of Noxus invaded Ionia, Master Yi joined in the Ionian defense to fight the craven enemy, bringing his village honor through his unparalleled mastery of the blade. The ensuing battles ravaged the land, but no conflict inflicted as much horror as the day the armies of Noxus closed in on Yi's village. Left undefended, the village became the unfortunate test subject of the latest invention by an up-and-coming chemist, now known as Singed. The remains of the village that Master Yi returned to were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred.

After the Noxian invasion was contained, Master Yi fell into a deep isolation. For years, he trained morning to night, speaking to no one and refusing offers of consolation by fellow Ionians. The only thing stopping him from madly charging into Noxus battle lines headfirst was his pledge to keep the Wuju style alive. Even though he seethed with impatience, his rage became a tool for sharpening his practice of Wuju, developing stronger and deadlier skills for his eventual vengeance. The only thing that roused him was news of the League's formation, and Noxus' subsequent enrollment in the League. Master Yi now brings his mastery of the blade to the League of Legends with unflinching purpose: to avenge his kinfolk and end the predations of the Noxus once and for all.

''The art of Wuju lives on in Master Yi, and is plunged through the hearts of his foes.'' -- Soraka, the Starchild

Spells

Recommended:
Ghost is great choice for Master Yi. You can easy catch running enemy or run away with less dying chance.
Exhaust is great at 1 vs 1 fights.
Flash is always great choice.

Other Good Spells
Cleanse is another good choice for Master Yi.
Clarity works well with Master Yi.

Bad Spells for Master Yi
Heal is useless. Master Yi's Meditate is good enough for healing.
Rally is most useless Spell ingame...
Clairvoyance is not for you. Leave it to support.
Fortify is for support too. If no one has this, and turret is under attack, just go there and kill 'em. Master Yi has enough power for that.

Neutral Spells for Master Yi
Smite is good for jungler. I'm sorry, but this guide doesn't tell about jungling with Master Yi
Teleport can be good choice some times at Summoner's Rift. If you're playing at Twisted Treeline, never use this!

Skills

Skills

Double Strike Good passive for this kind champion. You will strike twice at 7th attack.

Alpha Strike Great to catch an fleeing enemy and deal damage same time. Damages up to 4 enemies at same time. Using Exhaust to an enemy and after that Alpha Strike to deal damage. For extra damage, use Highlander and Wuju Style immediately after Alpha Strike can cause death to enemy champion.

Meditate Late game great for healing when attacking enemy base. I recommend to max this at last, because you don't need this very much at early game. Meditate heals 28 / 56 / 84 / 112 / 140 per second and gives 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 Armor and Magic Resistance.

Wuju Style Wuju Style has great passive. When activating Wuju Style, Passive's power doubles for 10 seconds. When cooldowning, passive is not in effect.

Highlander Awesome ultimate for Master Yi! Master Yi's Attack Speed and Movement Speed gains 40% boost and Master Yi becomes immune to any slow effects for the duration. And if you get champion kill, Ability cooldowns refresh. Assist will refresh them by half.

Playing as Master Yi

Playing as Master Yi

Early Game
Start the game by buying Dagger for Berserker's Greaves. Try not to be alone, because Master Yi is pretty weak at start. Kill as many minions as possible. You will need much money for Phantom Dancer.

Mid Game
When first turrets are down, you have more space to move. If you're above level 6, you can use Master Yi's ultimate. Highlander is very useful. Good tactic is to use Exhaust, then Alpha Strike, and then immediately cast Highlander and Wuju Style to cause killing blow. If you did get the kill, Ability cooldowns will be refreshed.

Late Game
Now you should have all items bought. If you use Executioner's Calling, and you have lots of money, you can sell Executioner's Calling and buy The Bloodthirster. Master Yi's Attack Damage and Crit. Change is very high now, you can hit over 1000 with Critical Strike. Nice, eh?

Summary

Summary

Master Yi is powerful champion. Almost everytime wins 1 vs 1. When built right, it has very high Crit. Chance, Crit. Power, Attack Damage and Attack Speed. Master Yi is vurneable to all kind of blinds, slows etc. Using Alpha Strike first, then Highlander and Wuju Style can kill enemy champion fast. At early game, try not to be alone, becaus Master Yi is carry champion, he needs a little help at start.

Please, vote and give me feedback. And remember; this was my first guide!

Situational Items

Last Whisper Enemy team has tanks with high armor. Last Whisper gives 40% Armor Penetration.

Cloak and Dagger Cloak and Dagger gives 25% Tenacity. Tenacity reduces duration of bad effects (Slow, stun etc.). Tenacity effects do not stack!

Hexdrinker Useful if enemy team has many champions that use Magic. Hexdrinker gives Attack Damage and Magic Resistance + has good Unique Passive.

Quicksilver Sash Great if enemy team has CC or Magic champions.

Randuin's Omen If you need more health and battling against powerful champions. Randuin's Omen gives Armor and Health. + It has good passive and active.
