Ok so this is my first build guide that i have done so i would like to start by saying that i am currently only a level 11 summoner so although it is not going to be possible for me to have the runes and masteries that i post here, this build will contain the masteries that i am using and intend to use and the better versions of the runes i currently use. With that being said please do not be discouraged because the majority of the time i do quite well with this build. For reassurance check my profile on LoL for a 26-2-3 game. Ty and any constructive comments about this guide would be appreciated.
Ok so about the runes. with this build it is all about offense. The three main things when thinking physical dps is attack speed, armor pen., and crit. Since the items you will be buying will focus on speed and crit, the runes more heavily lean to armor pen. pretty simple.
Again attack attack attack. Get the best offensive masteries and use the left overs to give a little defense and evasion.
Ok so if you notice the items were selected for a specific reason. the main thing is to get to the stark's fervor. at that point you will have an almost 100% crit and ridiculous attack speed.
after that the infinity edge brings the crit up to 100.
next since crit and speed have been solidified we top it off with a little armor pen.
last, and i say last because most games will be over long before this point, but last get the trinity force. with an improvement in multiple areas if a game gets to this point it will give the boost you need to turn the tide.
Ok so meditate is worthless for this style and thus you will only attain it when you have to. you will most likely never use it.
on the other hand alpha strike is crucial. Early game you will use it to farm and late game to close distance to and enemy champion.
alternate between AS and Wuju style picking up highlander upgrades when possible. I'll explain how to use each skill farther down.
Many people argue that you should not use smite unless you jungle and that ghost is just as useful getting around the map as tele. However, i will disagree.
let's start with teleport. the reason for this is not the short distance but the very infrequent long travel or emergency you have. with this build your movement speed is going to be very high mid game and thus the only thing u need is near instant travel over a long span. enter Teleport.
Next smite. yes you will be doing some minor jungling in this build but that is not what this is for. early game you will be trying to kill many minions and accrue gold as fast as possible. the upgraded smite helps with this beyond words. your alpha strike will kill many small creeps and smite will elimnate left overs while keeping you outta harms way. price less.
the only two other spells to consider would be ghost for the movement speed and flash which i will be trying out in one more level.
ok so lets get a little more detailed here.
Early Game: to start the game i suggest killing the neutral wolves outside your base. with alpha strike and a smite cast on the stronger wolf you will defeat them and have a little over half health. this is plenty and there is no reason to blue pill just yet.
the next step is to proceed to your lane and use alpha strike as a kind of long distance attack. alpha strike the nearest minions and if there is and enemy champion nearby retreat behind your minions so you can escape if necessary. repeat this casting smite when available.
if you get low on health return to base and then tele back out. continue this tedious process until you have gotten your first set of phanton dancers.
now you can can start to take advantage of more adventurous foes. if a weak character ventures to far out and you have minion support, do not hesitate to aplha strike out and tear him to shreds with a highlander wuju activation combo. however be wary of enemy towers.
At this point you should have both Dancers and the stark's fervor. now it's time to show you the secret of master yi's briliance. with the movement speed you now have it is time to float between lanes and assault any enemy champions that venture forth to attack your allies.
when you see an enemy that makes a good target alpha strike them. immediately cast highlander and activate wuju. they will fall quickly. if you are in a team battle or another enemy champ happens to venture forth you reep the rewards of highlander. since it has reset all your timers you have a simple strategy.. if you have over 75% health immediately repeat the process with the next champ. if it is a champ you will lose to in the current situation pop highlander and get out of there.
if you use this strategy to its fullest you can potentially kill an entire 5 person team in under 10 seconds in a team battle... i know... i have done it.
