Introduction

There are many reasons to play Miss Fortune. She is one of the easier champions to pick up. She has decent escape abilities with her E and good ranged harass with her Q. She is saucy, with fun skins and amusing voice over.

This guide presents a strong general farming-focused build for Miss Fortune. This build is not intended for use in ranked play, it's for more general low-elo play. It includes a fair bit of lifesteal, which will make it easier to succeed when you're learning this champion.

Runes

Armor penetration is very helpful as this build does not include any armor penetration items. When facing a heavy armor team, grabbing Last Whisper is a must, but for most teams these armor pen runes will provide enough counter to their armor.

Mana regen runes greatly increase the amount you can use your spells, which is very helpful in both farming and team fights.

Armor is a good choice for seals because, well, there really aren't many other good options.

Summoner Spells

Possibly controversial choice is teleport.

Quite simply this is so you can move around on the map more easily to farm a little here or there, or jump back to base to grab an item. If you are a heavy ganker grab exhaust or incinerate.

Teleport also makes you less dependant on healing poions as you can travel back to base more often to grab mana/health.

Items

This build has a lot of lifesteal and no armor/MR. This won't work in every situation.
- If you are taking a lot of magic damage pick up Negatron cloak early, you can use it to build a banshee's veil later
- If you are taking a lot of physical pick up a cloth armor and build Madred's Bloodrazer later, or just sell the cloth armor when you get full

Assuming you don't fall behind, with this build you can one-on-one tank most fighters and tanks just because your DPS + Life Steal is quite high.

If you find you aren't taking much damage, skip the scepter & bloodthirster and get phantom dancer early. You can pick it up later, or grab last whisper instead.

Banshee's Veil is a nice at the end for a little defense just in case. Grab a different item if you think it will suit you better.

Skill Sequence

R -> Q -> W -> E, pick up 1 point in each skill then max in this order

Q is your main focus because it lets you last hit easily and can be used to harass in lane.

E you only need 1 point in, the main point is to slow enemies when necessary. MF has enough daage she doesn't really need it to lane unless she is facing a lot of enemies. E requires AP to do more damage so you're not really going to get much damage out of this skill.

W will help you last hit and is MF's main source of attack speed until very late in the game. Rely on smart use of this so you can invest less in attack speed items.

R Useful to drive enemies back, or get a kill on a low enemy particularly in combination with E. Fire through terrain for maximum to catch enemies by surprise.

Creeping / Jungling

In a good game you will have a dedicated jungler, for other times the jungle is a good source of additional gold and XP.

Only jungle when your lane is under control. A good time is when you don't want to press the tower due to gank potential, but your minions are assaulting it.

MF is not a strong jungler early game, but you can clear up wraiths and wolves pretty easily from level 3 on. Once you have a lifesteal scepter you should be able to kill anything. Don't forget to pick up blue or red if no one else on your team needs them, or if you're in the enemy's jungle and it's safe to do so.

Team Work

Focus on enemies who are already being attacked by, or are attacking, your team members. MF's high damage will make short work of most opponents, especially with a little help.

Your E is critical to helping to control the combat space. Throw it down to slow enemies, or to discourage them from moving through an area. Use it to slow enemies pursuing your team mates.

Don't be afraid to liberally use your ultimate, it's not just for kills. With a wide area cone, you can use it to drive enemies back, or create a region they won't want to enter. Beware of enemies that can stun. It's quite long range so you can potentially use it outside of stun range.
