Items

Early game, the Vamp Scepter works awesome for staying in your lane, especially in mid. As long as you have creeps to attack, you will heal very quickly, especially with 22% crit chance at level 1.

The goal for items in mid game is to have moderate attack speed with even more life steal percentage. By mid game you should have your 2 vamp scepters, berserker boots, and black cleaver.

By end game, ideally you will have at least your two Phantom Dancers. This will get your movement speed up to about 516, which is awesome for chasing. If you manage to get to the point of buying your 2 bloodthirsters, you may always substitute one of those for Frozen Mallet to slow enemies if they are getting away from you easily.

Skill Sequence

First off, I think Q is a stupid spell. Before MF was nerfed 10 million times, it was actually an OK ability. However, now the range is shortened and it's extremely difficult to use efficiently for its mana cost. Instead of spending points in Q, I get my E first. For the mana cost, I get much more damage output using E than Q simply because I am guaranteed to hit my target.

Gameplay (Early Game; Middle Lane)

When I'm playing mid, one thing I like to do is continuously auto-attack creeps. Most of the time I end up last hitting by mere coincidence. However, this is an excellent tactic because it also allows me to constantly heal. When the enemy champion sees that I'm just standing there auto attacking, they are tempted to approach me for an attack. That's when I pop my E slightly behind them. When they attempt to run backwards, they are slowed, that's when I pop my W (for increased attack speed) and I auto attack them all the way to their tower (don't tower dive, just force them back). At this point I've taken away at least 50-60% of their health if they aren't already dead.

Once they are low enough in HP, keeping them away from your creeps is easy. You can hog all of the experience and gold you want and you'll force them to tower hug.

Champions I have trouble with are Pantheon and Vlad. If you are ever in a situation where you aren't doing very well in Mid, always fall back and tower hug. Using your E sparingly, you can destroy whole fresh waves of minions, keeping them away from your tower. Remember, the goal is to keep your tower safe and destroy theirs, not to get kills.

Gameplay (Mid/Late Game; Team Fights)

How you perform and engage in team fights will depend on how well the enemy team is doing and if they are focusing you or not.

In a situation where I'm not being focused, I play more aggressively and I stick with my other 4 team mates as we wonder around the map looking for victims to kill.

If the enemy team is smart and they are looking for you first thing in team fights, hang back and hide in the bushes close to where your team is hovering around and join team fights slightly late. I know this sounds bad, but consider this... I've been in situations where Twitch is staying stealthed during team fights, waiting to find me and focus me. If I wait long enough, twitch gets impatient and pops stealth and attacks someone else. That's when I join in and kill him.

I've also had situations where an OP Master Yi is waiting in the bushes somewhere for me to come out into the team fight first. However, I bait him out and focus him after popping exhaust on him. It's all a waiting game. You just have to wait until the rest of the enemy champions (who are also waiting to join the fight late) come out, then you do.

Tips

When you navigate through the jungle or whatever, make sure you use your A key to click somewhere on the map and move that way. If you happen to stumble upon an unsuspecting enemy champion, MF will immediately start auto attacking that person and you'll have a head start on the 1v1 fight. I can't tell you how many times I've A-keyed to my destination only to one-shot a champion that is teleporting in the bushes with 1% HP left.
