Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This guide will show you how to play assassin burst Wukong. Many people build off-tank when going Wukong, but if your jungler is tanky and your support is someone like Alistar/Leona, this build neglects health and focus more on armor penetration and attack damage. This build allows you to kill anyone. ANYONE.
Tips: Only use this build when you have at least 1 tank (not tanky) person on your team.
(EX: When you have a Malphite Jungler, Alistar bot, and a Galio mid)
Pros / Cons
-Get many kills with this guy
-Own tanky top laners (Malphite, Shen)
-High mobility with a stealth juke
-Really easy killer with the gap close from Nimbus
-Great initiator to fights, and clean up
-This build does not build any health on him
-You can die easier than an offtank build (going to try to deal with somewhat tanky masteries, and the items)
-Oracle's really screws you over, Lee Sin does too
-Decoy is actually easy to figure out
1. Ignite + Flash - common for top lanes, true dmg + a getaway move
2. Exhaust + Flash - exhaust can be used both offesive and defensive, I usually use it defensively.
3. Teleport + Flash - Top laner's favorites to backdoor, return to lane, gank, etc. Good if you want to gank bot a lot after lvl 6 and get some kills.
4. Heal + Flash - Heal is hard-countered by ignite if you're trying to heal bait, so I suggest this to be your last choice.
Flash is very important to get away from ganks, initiate a fight, and everything in between. It's a backup for your decoy if they do figure it out.
If you're REALLY aggressive (no getaway move)
1. Exhaust + Ignite - If you want first blood or invading
2. Heal + Ignite - Very good for a 1v1 fight to turn the tides, but none of these are gonna help you in a gank
If you're a *****:
1. Cleanse + Flash (gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay)
2. Promote + whatever - it's good for pushing the lane, but after laning phase it's just useless
Items- Main build (not in order), Situational Items, Defensive Items
1. Mercury Threads / Tabi's / Berserker's
I usually go Mercury's because of the Tenacity and my lack of MR, but Tabi's are good against another burst champion and Berserker's are good if you just want more Atk Speed.
2. Wriggle's Lantern
Top laner's specialty. Free wards, sustain, armor, dmg, all under the cost of a BF sword.
(WARNING: Try to neglect this item if you win lane early or you are very fed 2 - 5 kills early on. Most of the time this won't happen, but if it does, skip this item.) You should also sell this item late game.
3. Last Whisper
The main tank shredder. 40% armor pen + 30% armor reduction for Crushing Blow; Rammus, Malphite, Shen, eat your heart out.
4. Madred's BR
The thing is, last whisper doesn't give that much AD, it just gives mostly armor pen. This is why Madred's comes in. A lot of times champs will neglect armor and just go for a Atmog's build, and this will just take them apart. Not only does it counter-attack their health, it will 75% be effective because top lane champs don't stack MR against a Wukong.
5. Infinity Edge
One of the best items in game for an AD champ. This gives you crit chance + 80 Ad, which is really good for just dishing out more damage.
Situational Items:(should choose 1 or 2)
1. Youmuu's Ghostblade
If you wanna take GP10 in the beginning, get an Avarice and build this pretty early.
2. Maw of Malmortious
If their AP carry is megafed, or you need some lifesaver, this items is very good. Take the Hexdrinker if you're having trouble vs an AP top (Kennen, Teemo, Diana)
Replaces your Wriggle's lifesteal with a 20% one, not to mention more AD.
4. Phantom Dancer
PD Crit + IE Crit = 55% crit at 250%...amazing. (+ Youmuu's is 70%) So you will be BURSTING WITH AUTO ATTACKS.
5. Black Cleaver
If they just don't stack armor at all...this will be amazing for your build.
1. Banshee's Veil
Great if you're the initiator, it let's you ignore any CC when you go in for your ult.
2. Quicksilver Sash
Great against Warwick, Skarner, Malzahar
3. Guardian Angel
This item will be very beneficial IF AND ONLY IF you are focused a lot when initiating. If you usually die last in a teamfight, Guardian Angel is usually a bad item for you.
Really good if you go straight for the ADC after your ult initiation. They have no choice but to run or risk dying by auto attacking you.
