Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
* Changed the items in the build, I added spellvamp as it was requested in the comments.(note the dorans shield is meant to be sold at mid/late game depending on what you want to purchase)
* Spelling corrected xD
This is my first build on Mobafire. To be honest i have no idea what to write....
If you follow this build correctly you will get lots of minion kills and champion kills making you fed and unstoppable.
Feedback is highly appreciated.
Mordekaiser is a strong champion and WILL be a game changer in team fights if played correctly. Mordekaiser has a defensive passive and a defensive ability; therefore some play him as a tank or an off-tank. However, I play him as an ultimate AP champion. Still he is not squishy and can take lots of damage through his passive witch powers up quickly due to the high damage output abilities.
During the most recent winter solstice - when no other night during the year is longer - a being like no other emerged from the forgotten alleyways of Noxus. Standing eight feet tall, and concealed within a razor-sharp armored shell, he came to be known only as Mordekaiser. The nature of what lies beneath his metallic carapace is a popular subject of speculation. Many allege that he is a mortal man with a heart that has hardened to iron. Others insist that he is a dark specimen of the undead. But there are some who whisper warnings that he is merely a foreshadowing of something terrible and unprecedented yet to come. Despite the public conjecture and curiosity, none have discovered what lies beneath his alloyed exterior. What is known is this: Mordekaiser arrived unannounced at the Institute one day and, with a rasp that crept ice up the spines of all within earshot, requested to join the League of Legends.
Upon glimpsing his fearful visage, most keep their distance, fortunately unaware that his touch bears a sinister scourge. Those who stumble within his grasp fall victim to incurable maladies. In fact, Mordeakiser seems mystically attuned to sickness, as if it feeds and comprises part of his chilling essence. He now stalks the slums of Noxus, drawn to the plague-ridden and diseased. However, there is something in his clever tactics, something in his noble stance, and something in the tone of his unearthly commands that has led many to believe that Mordekaiser is more than just a foot soldier. Some see the distinguishing characteristics of a general. While many have learned to accept the evidence of this unsettling possibility, a lingering questions keeps them wary at the witching hour: if Mordekaiser is a general, what nightmarish legion lurks at his command?
''The common perception is that the encompassing armor protects him, I fear that - for the fragile time being - it actually protects us.'' - Rozuel Fecirem, Arch Adjudicator, noted in Mordekaiser's eligibility evaluation

Iron Man - A percent of the damage dealt from abilities is converted into a temporary shield, absorbing incoming damage.
This is a great passive. It prevents noobs from harassing you and if you get into a fight this will make you loose much less HP. A tip, when using this in a fight and the enemy minions are close too you, try to also hit they with Siphon of Destruction which will charge up your shield in an instance. However the shield decays in time.
Mace of Spades - On next hit, Mordekaiser swings his mace with such force that it echoes out, striking up to 3 additional nearby targets, dealing damage plus bonus damage. If the target is alone, the attack deals extra damage.
On next hit, Mordekaiser swings his mace with such force that it echoes out, striking up to 3 additional nearby targets, dealing 80/110/140/170/200 (0.4 + ) magic damage.
If the target is alone, 140/192.5/245/297.5/350 ( + ) damage is dealt instead.
Costs 25/32/39/46/53 Health
I like this spell allot because it is awesome for farming minions and charging up your shield. This spell has a high damage output, especially in 1v1 fights.
Creeping Death - Unleashes a protective cloud of metal shards to surround an ally, increasing their armor and magic resistance and dealing damage per second to enemies in the cloud.
Unleashes a protective cloud of metal shards to surround an ally for 6 seconds, increasing their armor and magic resistance by 10/15/20/25/30 and dealing 24/38/52/66/80 (+0.2) magic damage per second to nearby enemies.
This is a defensive and a bit of offensive ability as it increases your armor and magic resistant at the same time as it damages nearby enemies. Personally I don’t like this ability very much but it is a very viable ability and it fits perfectly with your passive.
Costs 26/32/38/44/50 Health
Siphon of Destruction - Mordekaiser deals damage to enemies in a cone in front of him. For each unit hit, Mordekaiser's shield absorbs energy.
]Mordekaiser damages enemies in a cone in front of him, dealing 65/105/145/185/225 (+0.6) magic damage.
For each unit hit, Mordekaiser's shield absorbs an additional 1/2/3/4/5 health.
Costs 24/36/48/60/72 Health
My favorite ability, it is perfect for Mordekaiser. This along with Mace of Spades will kill the minions in an instance. Thanks to its range you will be able to harass enemies with it easily. Along with Rylai's Crystal Scepter your enemies will not be able to escape you, as it slows them down by 35% or by 15% if they are in a group. As you don’t have mana your spells costs health, With Regrowth Pendant witch will be upgraded into a force of nature you will be able to regenerate the cost pretty quickly. Making you able to spam this ability (don't spam it too much if you are on low health and want to regenerate health)
Children of the Grave - Mordekaiser curses an enemy, stealing a percent of their life initially and each second. If the target dies while the spell is active, their soul is enslaved and will follow Mordekaiser for 30 seconds.
Steals 24/29/34 (+0.04)% of target champion's maximum Health (half stolen initially and half over 10 seconds; deals Magic Damage).
If the target dies while cursed, their soul is enslaved and will follow Mordekaiser for 30 seconds. Mordekaiser gains 20% of their ability power and attack damage, and the pet's stats are enhanced.
Pets can be controlled by holding the alt key and using the right mouse button.
One of the games best ultimate’s in the entire game, not only does it deal damage and give you a percentage of the targets MAX hp it gives you their ghost. The ghost will grant you 20% more ability power and attack damage. If you are fighting someone 1v1 and they are trying to escape with low hp just pop your ulti and ignite, then lean back and the ulti will do the job. If you are being followed and you have low hp use your ulti on the enemy with the most HP. This will give gradually give you some hp and help you escape(survivability). In team fights carries are usually in the back and letting the tanks take all the damage. It is important that you focus down the carries and use your ulti on them to get their ghost. With the ghost you will be able to win the team fight easily.
These runes are meant to give a boost in the early-game. These just make things so much easier as because you will have a high damage output and a high health regeneration rate. Nevertheless, they help out throughout the game especially the magic penetration marks.
With the masteries you will have increased survivability and increased ability power and attack speed.
This is great for escaping or chasing down an enemy that is running away. This could be very useful if the enemy is far away but with very little hp, then you could just flash towards the target and pop children of the grave or an ignite.
Fits perfectly with children of the grave. This is a very important spell as it is useful both early, mid and lategame.
