I take boots first to help me chase with my lane partner for FB better. Health pots aid with lane presence. I don't go home (unless needed) until I can afford Sorceror's Shoes (typically level 5 1/2ish) You may need to casually steal a couple kills until you start working on the Abyssal Scepter because your ability to hold your own in combat isn't secure until you get that AP, consider buying the Blasting wand after FoN to help you be useful until you have thornmail and can start focusing of damage output. Once you get the Deathcap you should easily be able to 1v2 if not 1v3 pretty well. with a good ranged carry, the two of you should be able to take 3-4 of them so in full-team fights you can easily get an ace. Guardian angel may be bought before deathcap if you're having some trouble. Other than that, I expect you to utilize whatever laning strategy works best for you, anytime someone tells me how to lane i f*** it up and get pissed off, and I suck at teaching lane strategy.
