The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.

I decided to write a guide for Morgana, because she is a really strong champion when she is played the right way. Morgana is easy to learn but much more difficult to master. I go for a combination of Ability Power, Health and some Cooldown reduction with Runes and Mejais.
2. Morgana, the Fallen Angel
There is a world far away where an ancient conflict still rages. Like so many wars, this war split families. One side called themselves angels, claiming to be beings of perfect order and justice. Those that fought against them believed the angels to be tyrants, creatures incapable of seeing the larger view. Morgana was one who fought against what she perceived as the tyranny of the angels, and for that she was branded ''fallen''. Morgana was not innocent, having taken to the practice of the black arts in an effort to fight against the general of her enemy's army - her sister, Kayle, who had long ago disavowed any filial connection. Then, as the two were locked in what might be their final conflict, they were suddenly summoned to Valoran. Morgana now fights in the League of Legends, but only with the goal of destroying her sister before returning home.

Movement Speed: 300
Magic Resistance: 30
Health Regen: 5.3
Mana Regen: 4.75
Dorans Ring: Is always a good Item for most casters, you get over 210Hp more with Dorans Ring in combination with Runes.
Sorcerers Shoes: Sorcerers Shoes are the best. You are a Nuke/Carry with support ability. Do not underestimate 20 Magic Penetration.
Mejais Soulstealer: Going for Mejais Soulstealer is an obligation. Morgana is great in escaping so you will get a lot of stacks. Even as Supporter.
Rod of Ages: Rod of Ages is with its massive Health and Mana great for escaping from ganks.
Zhonyas Hourglass: Your ultimate Soul Shackles has a casttime of 4 seconds. Death will interrupt this. The 2 seconds active effect from Zhonyas Hourglass protects you, because more Mejais Soulstealer stacks + more People affected with your Soul Shackles = more focus on you.
Rabadons Deathcap: Not much to say but MASSIVE ABILITY POWER!
Abyssal Scepter: More Ap and MR for more damage and escape ability. Abyssal Scepter has a great passive it increases your damage output. The basic Magic Resistance of most champions is something around 50/60.
Elixir of Brilliance: The caster elixir is not an ability power bomb like Rabadons Deathcap but mostly you need its 10% Cooldown reduction. REMEMBER an Elixir of Brilliance between your items is always acceptable but NEVER buy an elixir and disclaim any item.
Elixir of Fortitude: Mainly a AD/TANK elixir but more Health is always welcome.
Elixir of Agility: I know how some of you are going to stop here and Post a comment like Oh my good you NOOB you have no idea how to play but let me explain. Your whole item build is completed and you have no idea what to do with the rest gold buy all elixirs also Elixir of Agility it has Crit and Attackspeed but what do I care I do not need this gold so I can spend it. Also an Autoattack Crit already got me 2-3 kills ;D
Oracles Elixir: an Oracle is never wrong even if you do not need it buying an Oracles Elixir gives you an awesome eye above your head ;)
These items are bought in this order.
Always start with Dorans Ring (Even with Patch 22.214.171.124) it will work well bacause your Mana Regeneration of Dorans Ring is increased to 5 from 4. Health Potions are replaced by with her Passive
Only changes can be between Sorcerer's Shoes and Mejais Soulstealer it depends on which enemy you are challenging if he is fast get Sorcerers Shoes first, if not Mejais Soulstealer will work great.
I try to stay in lane until I got enough gold for one of both items and Boots of Speed or Amplifying Tome. If you need to go back earlier buy one item or like I prefer Boots of Speed and an Amplifying Tome.
Your third recall should get you Catalyst the Protector (and maybe Blasting Wand). Do not try to get the whole 3000 gold for Rod of Ages.
The fourth recall should finish your Rod of Ages. From now on go back when you need to or with about 1600-2000 gold.
4. Summoner Spells
Good Choices for Morgana:
Clarity: Clarity is well for almost every Champion with Mana. The reason why I am going with Clarity is one important point in playing Morgana: Her***ment (nothing more to say about this).
Ignite: Ignite gets you your kills in early game and works excellent with Tormented Soil.
Teleport: A lot of Players are going along with Teleport. I am not sure why but I think it is mainly for being back faster and support your team faster and more efficient. I paly Morgana as a Damage Caster my team should not go team fights without me.
Exhaust: You have a Cage stay out of range so these stupid Melee Champs are no challenge.
Ghost: You shouldn't need to chase someone and for getting back faster Teleport is way better.
Heal: Therefor you got your Soul Shipon
Revive: You should not die you are an escape artist.
Smite: You farm well with your Tormented Soil and jungle Morgana is not a real way to play.
Cleanse: Block that **** with your Black Shield.
Fortify: Leave it to the Tanks
Rally: Seriously? Why? It is a waste of Summoner Spell slots :/
Clairvoyance: It is a great support spell if you play a supporter it is excellent. But For an AP it is unnecessary. So leave it to Soraka, Sona or an other supporter.
Flash: The distance of Flash can be reached in time of a Dark Binding.
5. Skills & Skill Sequence
Soul Siphon: Morgana gains 15-35% Spell Vamp.
Dark Binding: Morgana releases a sphere of dark magic. Upon contact with an enemy unit, the sphere will deal magic damage and force the unit to the ground for a period of time.
Fires a bolt of dark energy towards a target location, binding the first unit hit to the ground for 2/2.25/2.5/2.75/3 seconds and dealing 80/135/190/245/300 (+0.9) magic damage.
Toremented Soil:Infects an area with desecrated soil, causing enemy units who stand on the location to take continual damage.
Curses a large area for 5 seconds. Enemies on the cursed ground are dealt 25/40/55/70/85 (+0.2) magic damage and have their magic resistance reduced by 4/5/6/7/8 every second.
Black Shield: Places a protective barrier around an allied champion, absorbing magical damage and disables until penetrated or the shield dissipates.
Places a shield around target friendly champion, absorbing 100/150/200/250/300 (+0.8) magic damage and preventing disables while the shield holds.
Lasts 5/5/5/5/5 seconds or until the shield has been depleted.
Soul Shackles: Latches chains of energy onto nearby enemy champions, dealing initial damage to them and slowing their move speed by 20%, and then echoing the pain 4 seconds later and stunning them if they remain close to Morgana.
Deals 175/250/325 (+0.8) magic damage to nearby enemy champions and slows their movement speed by 20% for 4 seconds. Additionally, if Morgana stays within 600 range of the targets for the full 4 seconds, they are dealt an additional 175/250/325 (+0.8) magic damage and become stunned for 1/1.5/2 second(s).
I take Dark Binding first. Most Morganas start with their Toremented Soil so Dark Binding gives some kind of surprise effect.
Then I take 3 points in Toremented Soil so I can kill Casterminions with one soil. Notice that you should try to set Tormented Soil under most of the Minions to maximize your life steal from Soul Siphon.
One point in Black Shield before you reach level 6 is recommendable if you are going for an attack.
Max your Dark Binding first it is your main damage ability.
Take your Ultimate when ever aviable.
I use standard caster Masteries with 9 in Offense and 21 in Utility.
I had tried out several games if I should go with 4/4 in Expanded Mind and 2/3 in Meditation or
the other way around. I did not feel strong differences but I think that Meditation is more important in the early game.
Runes are explained quickly. Magic Penetration for... Magic Penetration. Health per level is more effective than the flat ones. Mana Regenaration is important while Clarity is on Cooldown. Flat Health Quintessences give you great health boost in the beginning.
1on1: Open up with Dark Binding (if you miss try to keep him away from you until it is of cooldown), set Toremented Soil under him. Cast Soul Shackles if necessary. It stuns him and can be used as a nuke in early game. Ignite him and then cage him and set your Toremented Soil until he dies.
1on2: Focus the easier killable one. Do the same like in one on one but try to stun both with your Soul Shackles.
1on3: Are you insane?
Team Fights: Run in behind your Tank and try to get as most as possible with your ultimate use Zhonyas Hourglass after 1-2 seconds of ultimate charging. Set Torement Soil under a caged or stunned enemy. In Team Fights it is important to have your Black Shield on Cooldown.
Ganking: Bind the ganked champion so your mates on the lane can catch up to the target. Then pull of your standard Skill Combo.
Morgana farms with her W-Ability only, it is not really necessary to kill Minions with you Dark Binding. With 3 points in Toremented Soiland at least a bit ability power you can easily kill Casterminions with one Tormented Soil. Try to set Tromented Soil between Caster- and Meleeminons, make sure every Casterminion stands above Toremented Soil directly from the beginning, otherwise you wont kill them with your 3 points in Toremented Soil.The Meleeminions will not die to a level 3 Toremented Soil but if they are hit by your W-Ability makes it easier to push and farm more gold. When you are not sure if your Toremented Soil kills the Casterminons try to Auto-Attack them one to two times.
10. Closing Words
Morgana is a great Champion with a lot of pros. She is great in escaping and Damage dealing. Farming is very easy and you can dominate everywhere with a well played Morgana.
