Excellent guide. Just had an amazing game with Naut playin this build and it was a lot of fun. Not a frequent Naut player but this certainly made me like him a lot more.

Hey, Zyggs, this is a build for Nautilus BEFORE the addition of Cinderhulk. I'll get to testing Nautilus with all of the new changes and make some updates!

That said, it looks like you're playing Naut like a pure tank. That's fine, Naut is a tank and does work well as a pure tank, but I've personally found more success with him with this build. Keep in mind that running these masteries and this build requires playing differently (also addressed in this guide).

Bad Masteries, Even worse build. Stacking passive's that are unique. (Cinderhulk + Sunfire), going for a abyssal tho it has no synergy with Cinderhulk and doesn't even buff up naut damage, that much.

Buy sequences should be something like this.

Cinderhulk, Boots,
(anything with high health since the new cinderhulk buff is quite good, also cuz of naut w passive)
High Ad team? Go Randuins -> Frozen heart. In some cases the other way around.
High Ap team? Go Locket/Banshee -> Warmogs/Righteous Glory.
Well Mixed? Go Locket -> Randuins. Or simply aim for high Health, with a Warmogs/RG

Dont even think about going Abyssal before you got at least 3 items completed. (Cinderhulk, Health, Armor/MR+Health) Boots doesn't count. You want that health + armor/mr to be high before the apc's and adc's start booming out those crits and penetrations.

Also, trinity is only a HAM item on him. Don't build it if your not snowballing hard.

Hello, I am fairly new to jungling, and I found that i have had some issues. My main problem is that i have had troubles keeping up with the enemy and friendly levels. If you could give me any tips, i would highly appreciate it. Thank you!

Hey, I'd be glad to help. If you can get back to me, what runes/masteries are you using, and also what champions?

The thing with the Jungle is that it's kind of balanced between extremes. There are going to be games where you don't have any successful ganks and you aren't able to cover any lanes for extra creep XP, and also where you may be slowed down in your own clears by trying to help - in these games, you're going to be underleveled.

On the other hand, there will be games where you get some quick, early gank kills, cover lanes against huge creep waves, and maybe do some counterjungling - in these games you'll probably be ahead.

Between the two extremes a million things can happen, and jungling generally is much more dynamic than the other roles, which means that playing well in the jungle is all about adaptation. To this end, my big advice is to not force anything. Don't always feel that you have to get ganks, or keep your jungle cleared, or cover lanes - but be watching and ready to do any of these things in the most opportunistic way possible.

The other thing to keep in mind is that if you ARE behind, especially don't force anything. I mean, if you're a level or two behind the enemy top laner, and your ally in top isn't well suited to help you get a kill, DON'T GO TOP lane - even if your ally is calling for it! Sometimes you've got to cut your losses and do what you can clearing your own jungle, covering lanes, and playing a little bit of catch up. If you try for ganks that you're likely to fail at - and possibly even to die while in the process of - you're not doing anyone any favors.

Thanks for reading! I can give you some more advice if you talk to me about runes/masteries/champs.

Hey, Virunus,

His W does scale off of max health, but only to 17% at 5th level. Flat yellows give 72 health, from which you would only gain an extra 12 hit points on Titan's Wrath (and that's at level 9, the earliest you could max Titan's Wrath). At level 1, the situation is even worse because Titan's Wrath only gains 7% of your max health, meaning an extra 5 shield hit points from your health seals.

Using health/level seals, these numbers would improve, but Nautilus (particularly in the jungle) is all about the early and mid game. Furthermore, the increased hit points on Titan's Wrath would still be pretty minimal with health/level seals.

The extra 9 armor from seals will do a lot to improve your overall jungle clear, and will also do more to protect you from auto attacks during early ganks. This guide is focused on my specific runes, masteries, and jungle route - which should get you a full clear with 75% or higher health, allowing you to start ganking as early and as safely as possible, which is really what Nautilus is all about.

Thank you for reading! (please like the guide if you liked it = D)

I'm just curious as to why you would take armor seals vs health seals when his W scales off of max health?

Just realized the Mid Game section was missing! Added now - lots of good info! If you read this guide, please let me know your thoughts; I'd love to keep improving it, and to make even better guides for my other mains in the future. Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback! I know it's a ton of information. I'll look into some of your suggestions for making it more palatable.

As for the headers, are the sections not good enough? I see their titles in yellow, with the block of text beneath.

Again, thank you!
