Glad to hear it worked for you because some people think that this "is no effective way to build Amumu."
lol
^lol the kid that said that probably didn't even try the build
This is the guide I've been waiting for pure tank Amumu! went 17/5/21 on ranked games

I am sorry to say but I think this really is no effective way to build Amumu. Why go for a Cloth Armor first and then for Regrowth Pendant if you could skip the Cloth Armor and get the Philosopher's Stone at first time recalling? Why not start at Wolves, then Blue, Wraths, Wolves, Red and Golems? You can do that with Regrowth + 1pot. All in all you're building a very tanky Amumu and you're not very efficient about it. You ignore core items like Aegis of the Legion, Shurelya's Reverie, Abyssal Scepter and maybe Frozen Heart.
Have a look at my Amumu guide I think I have some important changes there.
ps. I won't -rep, don't worry but you should go over this again...
The reason I buy the Cloth Armor first is because this is a jungle guide and if you get enough creep kills and gank early (you don't have to follow the guide exactly) you will have enough money to get a Phili Stone anyway. I would also like to say is that when you said that I should put the frozen heart in the build, I have a chapter that shows items that could be substituted for occasions. I didn't add the Aegis, Shurelya's, or the Abyssal is because I find those more of support items and as you also pointed out the build I have is pure tank, but that's just the way I build him. Amumu also does need AP due to the fact that his W(Despair) does a percent of the targets HP, the only AP item i would actually get would be the Rylai's for the slow. In conclusion this is a VERY effective way to build Amumu, it's just that you may have a different play style for him.
