Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is my first build, so please, any feedback is welcomed, both negative and positive.
This build focuses on Amumu supporting his team as much as possible.
1) Jungling gives a carry a solo lane
2) Aegis and Soul Shroud give them armor, magic resist, and cooldown redux
3) Soloing dragon as soon and as often as possible to give the team gold
4) Buying wards to prevent ganks/initiate them
5) Saving lives
These masteries focus on giving Amumu the most jungling survivability. Strength of Spirit gives almost 1hp per second regen, all the defense and health is obvious, and the buff extension is needed as you will be constantly getting buffs.
You start with about 100 extra health and at level 18 have about 450. Regen is not so useful late game, and the armor/mr runes do not add much after you buy all your items. But 450 health is always useful.
Pretty standard for jungle Amumu. Despair the golem to death, tantrum everything else, etc.
As for the summoner skills, ghost is great for escaping and chasing or trying to get to a teammate to save them. Remember, you will be getting very few kills, so your death means less gold for the enemy team than if they kill your carry that has been on a 10 kill spree.
Beginning is the standard jungling build. After that, Heart of Gold helps build some more gold. By the time you get Aegis team fights should start which will help your teammates out a lot. The Merc Treads are mostly to lessen the effects of stuns, so if the enemy lacks CC, get boots of swiftness or MAYBE ninja tabis instead. I don't really like ninja tabis, the armor is negligible compared to what you will be getting and the dodge isn't enough to make it worth it. Plus swiftness will help you get into position for you're ult better. After that, you can get the items in any order you need them. Heavy dps enemy? Get the armor items and maybe sub a thornmail and more health items. Magic? MR. Madreds? Lots of MR.
That's just about it. Be smart with wards. You need items less than your carrys, so spend your gold on wards. Just know you are the real MVP of the game.
