Introduction

Hello my name is Sahroh and I'm here to guide you on how to play Nami. I may not be in Challenger or Diamond, but please at least give me a chance I am a fairly familiar to league of legends and have a lot of information, and love to pass information and see things move efficiently. That is why I love this champion in particular. In this Guide I will tell you how to play Nami simply, but with detail.

Masteries

In Masteries you take 0/18/12 focusing on Cunning the goal to provide yourself and allies with: out of combat movement speed, biscuits, mana regeneration, enhanced cooldown reduction, and increase healing. Focusing on resolve, you want to go for: increased regeneration, movement in the river and through bushes, increased healing for yourself, as well as reduced summoner cooldown's, and all of this is in order to complement the Cunning tree.

Keystone:
Windspeaker's Blessing

Runes

For Runes you primarily focus on defense, Using 9 Greater Seal of Armor in order to deny auto harass/ADC Damage and 9 Greater Glyph of Mana Regeneration in order to consitently output abilities for your lane primarily to sustain. For marks, get 9 Greater Mark of Magic Penetration due to the fact that supports do not build penetration, this provides increased dominance over the laning phase. Finally, for Quintessence's get 3 Greater Quintessence of Magic Resist in order to provide better opportunity to trade with the enemy support involved.

Spells

In Summoner Spells grab Exhaust and Flash because this gives you the ability to keep the enemy off you or the ADC, to chase a low target, or to win a fight when you have better position, which can result in kill(s). However, Ignite and Flash is also very valuable for a lot more lane dominance, due to the fact that it reduces healing from heal as well as healing champions ( Soraka we see you and your sneaky tricks). For both sets, Flash is a necessity, due to its ability to deny an engage on you, as well as providing outplay/dive potential, and sometimes, a miracle can occur during a dive under the enemy tower (but it's not recommended).

Items

This is an example build of how you can use your item set to help your ADC farm efficiently while also being able to get out of sticky situations and control objectives. Each of the items above help get a good laning phase and help support your team in team-fights. Remember I am here to give you an idea of what to build on Nami if you feel something isn't right you don't have to listen to me I'm just the guide, what you do is your choice. Again, Remember this is an example build of how you should make your skill-set, make your own twist to it! Start off with Spellthief's Edge (remember to upgrade this as you have gold, and do it as soon as possible into a Frost Queen's Claim, preferably before you start your core items.), 3 Health Potion's, and a Sweeping Lens. Build Sightstone, then save up for a Mobility Boots. By now you are probably level 9 and can upgrade your Sweeping Lens into an Oracle Lens and are now onto the core items. Save for Redemption and build it before [Ardent Sensor and then finally upgrade your Sightstone into a Ruby Sightstone. After finish your build and buy a Locket of the Iron Solari. Remember by late game conditions can change, so buy what items are necessary as listed for alternatives.

Gameplay

I would highly Recommend Nami to anyone who is trying to find a champion to main that is high in harass and can help get their team out of sticky situations. She has a long range stun that stuns for a pretty decent amount of time. Nami also has a long range bounce that heals and damages , and an attack buff for you and your Attack Damage Carry. Plus to top it off, she has a long range ultimate that slows. Your job as a support is to make sure the ADC (Attack Damage Carry) is safe and can stay in the lane to farm while also being able to do damage to the enemy lane and get kills. You use a lot of Mana with Ebb and Flow so you must choose the moment correctly and not spam! You also have to be conscience of both jungler's and use Stealth Ward's/ Control Ward's to obtain information! Ward the river bush (and if your on purple team ward the tribush.) Keep in mind there are other methods that jungler's can use to gank you so you must also look at your map to figure out where they are.

Skill Set

This is her main C.C Ability. She can stun Multiple targets for long amounts of time and can also be used to escape enemy's by casting it where they will step. It can also use Be used to trap people who turret dive and score a kill for your team.

This is Nami's "Equalizing Bread and Butter" and also her strongest. This ability does lots of damage to your enemies, and heals your allies tons in addition to giving you a lot of control of you lane once it is rank 3 and your enemy's will be cautious. Let it be mana hungry or not.

This Ability is a Essential asset to supporting your ADC. It lets you buff your own damage with basic attacks or your ADC.

Her ultimate Tidal Wave is a long rage low damage wave that slows. This can be used to Initiate, slow, or disengage a fight. It can be used for its damage in team fight but it doesn't do that much.

Nami's Passive is her most unique skill . Her passive gives movement-speed and is very useful for escaping and chasing. For example, you are playing with Vayne as your ADC and the enemy is decently low you use Ebb and Flow it boosts her Movement and bounces to the enemy, and Vayne uses Tumble and picks up the kill. An example of an escape is with an enemy like Rengar using his ultimate and jumping to your Vayne. You use Aqua Prison on Vayne, and it also hits Rengar and stuns him but also boosts her movement to speed her up and make a clean escape.

Skill Leveling Sequence

Before I talk about what to max first, the ability you get at level 1 vary's. if you have a sharp ADC that knows how Nami works get Ebb and Flow first, however, most ADC do not know (or over estimate) how long range Ebb and Flow is, so I recommend getting Aqua Prison at level 1. As Nami , you max Ebb and Flow first because it gives you the ability to hit/heal multiple targets at once. This is a great tool to change the "tide" of battle. You then max your E Tidecaller's Blessing because it gives you the ability to buff your carry sometimes ten-fold in damage . You max your Q Aqua Prison last because of its long cool-down and its not worth its damage because it puts you in a bad position. But your skill sequence depends on who you are laning with , and how they play ususally you either max your Tidecaller's Blessing first then Ebb and Flow or the other way around. Pre-Level 6 you are supposed to linger around and wait until they try to push then once they get close enough lay Aqua Prison right behind them. When they are trapped cast Ebb and Flow where u see necessary and cast Tidecaller's Blessing on your ADC. Post level 6 you can do the normal combo ,or you can use your ultimate Tidal Wave and then lay Aqua Prison.

How to Mastering Using Your Skills

When laying Aqua Prison, try to hit as many targets as possible. The best way to land Aqua Prison is to lay it before your enemiess as seen.

With Ebb and Flow there are 2 ways to send out the skill:

Option 1 - Target an Ally. The water will bounce to an enemy and if it can back to another ally or yourself.

Option 2 - Target an enemy. The water will bounce to an ally and if it can it will jump to an enemy again.

With this you also have 2 options:

Option 1 - Cast on highest auto attack champion in the lane or near by to increase their damage even more.
Option 2 - Cast it on yourself to either slow down your enemies for your ADC to get away , or just to do more damage.

The main use of tidal wave is to slow and damage you enemy so you can chase them down with your team and kill them. But you can use it for its damage, but that may not be very wise due to its low base damage and scalings.
(PRACTICE DAMN IT!)

Team Work

Nami is a teamwork based champion if your team doesn't work together you will probably have a hard time making a win out of that situation. If you are having teamwork problems try to be the catalyst for change, and promote a more positive attitude and try to get them to work together. Also you must be aggressive in team-fights (for most situationsand have your allies in position to get maximum use of your abilities. During the laning phase, as custom you must (as a support) help your ADC farm. Let the ADC last hit the minions so they can get the gold needed for their expensive items. Do this for the team, but fell free to take a minion if your carry pisses you off <3.
