Nocturne,The Eternal Nightmare

Before Nocturne, people believed that dreams were figments of their imagination, meaningless images that flashed through the mind when one slept. This belief was put to the test when a rash of sleep-related incidents started afflicting summoners of the League. Some would wake up screaming, terrified and beyond consolation. Some could not fall asleep, slowly going mad as the nights ticked by. Some simply never woke up. Physicians were baffled until a Field Architect happened to pass out next to a nexus on Twisted Treeline. Witnesses said he cried out once and then stopped breathing. Immediately after, magical energy arced out from the nexus, and Nocturne appeared. \n\n Nocturne did not take his introduction to this world kindly. He slaughtered everything he could find before summoners were able to magically confine him. After a period of intense study, League experts divined that Nocturne hunted summoners in their sleep, attacking them in a place where their magic was useless. This seemed to be his only purpose. The families of the victims demanded justice, but League officials were concerned that death might only return Nocturne to the place from which he came. They bound him to a nexus fragment, trapping him in the physical world. As punishment for his crimes, they allowed summoners to call upon Nocturne in the League matches, bending his will to the summoners he hates and creating his own personal nightmare. League scholars don't know whether he truly came from the plane of dreams, or whether there are any more like him. Some theorize that the summoning act affected summoners' subconscious minds, luring Nocturne to them in their sleep. Perhaps the most disturbing theory is that Nocturne is a person's nightmare come to life. If this is true, they wonder, who is the dreamer? \n\n ''The darkness is closing in...it's pitch black now...but I can still see him...''\n - Kelvin Ma, patient #4236

And Flat armor Seals (For jungle and bit late game)

Nocturne's skills and some ways to use them

Umbra Blades

Your passive. It charges up every 10 seconds making your next basic attack deal bonus damage and do aoe damage too.It gives a bit of lifesteal too...It is really good jungle tool when combined with "Duskbringer".

Duskbringer

Nocturne throws a shadow blade that deals damage, leaves a Dusk Trail, and causes champions to leave a Dusk Trail. While on the trail, Nocturne ignores unit collision and has increased Movement Speed and Attack Damage.
Nocturne throws a shadow blade that deals 60/105/150/195/240 (+) physical damage and leaves a Dusk Trail for 5/5/5/5/5 seconds. Enemy champions hit also leave a Dusk Trail.

While on the trail, Nocturne ignores unit collision and gains 15/20/25/30/35% Movement Speed and 15/25/35/45/55 Attack Damage.

Cost
60/65/70/75/80 Mana
Range
1200

This is Your most important combat skill. It deals solid amount of damage and makes enemy leave a "Dusk Trail" which will make you move faster behind those enemies and you will come in range of your "Unspeakable Horror" for fear. Also bonus damage is pretty handy!

Shroud of Darkness

Nocturne empowers his blades, passively gaining attack speed. Activating Shroud of Darkness allows Nocturne to fade into the shadows, creating a magical barrier which blocks a single enemy spell and doubles his passive attack speed if successful.
Passive: Nocturne has 20/25/30/35/40% bonus Attack Speed.

Active: Nocturne creates a magical barrier for 2 seconds, which blocks the next enemy ability.

If an ability is blocked by the shield, Nocturne's passive Attack Speed bonus doubles for 5 seconds.

Cost
50/50/50/50/50 Mana
Range
20

This is a skill you should use after casting "Paranoia" to absorb the first blows that enemies usually cast in fear, example when you are trying to get Lux,she will firstly cast binding, you can block it and gain your attack speed to get her down faster while she is affected by "Unspeakable Horror" and "Duskbringer"

Unspeakable Horror

Nocturne plants a nightmare into his target's mind, dealing damage each second and fearing the target if they do not get out of range by the end of the duration.
Nocturne plants a nightmare into his target's mind, dealing 50/100/150/200/250 (+1) magic damage over 2 seconds. If Nocturne stays within range of the target for the full duration, the target becomes feared for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 second(s).

Cost
60/65/70/75/80 Mana
Range
475

Your chasing tool that can make teamfights turn around. When ganking use it as leash...It slows and later fears and deals little damage too!In combination with lizard buff it is great CC.

Paranoia

Nocturne reduces the sight radius of all enemy champions and removes their ally vision for 4 seconds.

While Paranoia is active, Nocturne can launch himself at an enemy champion, dealing 150/250/350 (+) physical damage.

Cost
100/100/100 Mana
Range
2500

There are a lot of ways to use this skill. When ganking from jungle, when initiating in late-game teamfights,to hide your team (cause it gives enemy no map vision) when escaping or destroying fortifications!Uses are limitless,be cleaver when using it!Also it can be used as in-battle blink,if you can't kill someone 1v1 without it feel free to use it,tho you will suffer cooldown!

Summoner Spells

Your standard picks should be Flash and Smite

If you don't like Flash here are alternatives

Ghost-Good for getting into range of ult when needed earlier in-game,good escape.Still I prefer flash.

Teleport-Good for backdoor, but then you have no escape abilities

Heal-You can take it,but not so good

Ignite-You can take it too,but you will not find your enemy surviving your ganks very often with low hp...And no escape abilities again so not recommended!

Clairvoyance-Don't take this if you don't know how to use it very well,it is good combination with your ult,but it is not escape ability! ^^

Skill Sequence

This is your skill order for jungle.

1.Q
2.W
3.Q
4.E
5.Q
6.R
7.Q
8.W
9.Q
10.W
11.R
12.W
13.W
14.E
15.E
16.R
17.E
18.E

You are taking you Q first cause it gives you the most damage and passive damage while on it.
Now some people say to maxout E first...That is not good. All you get with it is Fear duration and a bit of damage, but slow is still the same,so you better take your W for passive attack speed. You have solid damage with your runes and items you will get,so attack speed is all you need, and you don't even have to buy it thanks to your W!

Items

This is your order for jungle!

First Vampiric Scepter

Second upgrade it to Wriggle's Lantern (Use it as a ward too, don't forget!)

Then go with Berserker's Greaves

Then The Brutalizer

After that go for Infinity Edge

And finish Youmuu's Ghostblade

Then go defensive items depending on enemy team, but classics should be Banshee's Vail for heavy casters and Randuins's Omen for AD guys...Don't forget to use your items active abilities! All are very important...Omen's slow/as nerf,Ghostblade boost is important (good for pushing turrets!)

Last item is an item of your choice, more damage or more tanky, you chose!BloodThirster is good option, but i go tanky option more often!

Just don't take AS items (ex: Phanotm Dancers ) as many people do,it's unneeded.

Jungle!FTW!

First get vamp scepter then this order

1.Wraiths (use smite on the big one and let small ones get in line for Q and then hit then all with passive and then 1 hit is needed for all to do and you will lose almost no hp to them)

2.Wolf Camp (easy,just hit Q)

3.Mini golems (Don't use smite on them you don't need it.When you finish them if you feel like having enough hp to kill 1 mini lizard to kill him to get level 3 and go back to base if not having nuff hp just go b)

Then when in base buy cloth armor and 1 (yes just 1 hp pot)

4.Lizard!(Get the Lizard (make sure you stand between Lizard Elder and remaining little one to trigger passive with effect! Smite is important there! And activate healing pot)

5.Mini golems if spawned if not go for wraiths then for them

6.You are level 4,having all skills it means:A GANK!:When seeing a target that is available for ganking here is how you go!

[1] Ghost if you have it or if you feel need flash to engage
[2] This is extra important hit your Q!!!
[3] Follow the trail to range of your E
[4] Leash it!And make it run in fear
[5] While it is in fear you should finish it with your gank partner from lane (I mean one who's lane you gank)

7.Roam around the jungle, you can do every camp now...Just don't forget to use smite as often possible you get 5 bonus gold every time you use it ^^

8.Gank whenever you can with your ult and even without it

9.When you have Lantern ready and Berserker's Geaves go for Drake/Dragon (You can solo it earlier, but don't try luck with lantern). But the best would be if you play premade/with normal teammates call for help at it,but don't let enemy suspect you are there)

The rest is pretty much not jungle :)

Farming

Noc's farming is really easy, just go with Q and get in the middle if minions and use your passive. After it just auto hit,you will have passive again...Noc is a grate farmer!

Unique Skills

Noc's skills are all really unique and good for chasing/disabling someone

His Q is really good for chasing down and pretty nice aoe + passive dmg

His W is really good spell shield (Karthus will cry you a river!)

E disables carry in teamfights so he can't do damage for 2 seconds (for that time you kill him)

And finally ult can cover you while you are backdooring, can make you be in teamfights and hide your team's escape routes!

Team Work

This is REALLY important for Nocturne

First let tank initiate ,then teammates. When they initiate you spam your Q to dmg enemies. When someone is low or running your time for ult!Get him and fear the carry!Or if you want to engage earlier (but still wait for a mess to happen or you will be focused earlier in game with no tanky items) go for their heavy AP guy or for the one that is most squishy (they usually deal the most damage). When you are far away and teamfight begins use your ult to come into it (Use ghost if available to get faster)
You will see range of your ult when coming into fight by holding mouse on your Paranoia skill.
You can backdoor too using your Q (it increase damage on turret) and your Ghostblade for AS (Plus passive of your W).
That is pretty much everything mid to late game (also always do dragon and lizard whenever you can!)
