Start with boots and 3 health pots. This is for your early game mobility, chase, and harass.
AS SOON AS YOU CAN get a giants belt, most people will say get mercury treads or get madred's razors. I say screw that. giants belt is your core item that makes you intimidating in lane. bigger health bar = more tanky = more scary.
After this get yourself a avarice blade. GP per 10 is OP
now go rape whoever is top or mid, or bot. after that happens a couple times get Warmogs. This will make you neigh un-killable and let you dive all day.
after this is it good to grab either a Brutalizer if you are in lane or a madred's razors.
Now you can finally get your mercury treads. Why so late you ask? Honestly while speed is great you really shouldn't need it too much between your w, quints and l boots. you should already run over most champs in the game (minus Hecarim).
Hopefully at this point you should be fed and also pretty leveled (about lv 11-13). grab a sheen and a re-curve bow. After all if you attack more your q is up more which means you do more damage and with sheen its ridiculous.
From here round out your build. finish ghost blade and trinity, then get a sunfire or wits end.
A lot of the items i have are to counter high burst champs, health is needed to properly tank hardcore for your team.

Pros
your E damage will give you burst and good shred for team-fights.
you live, a lot.
People will focus you inadvertently
You have good early game burst and lane harass
does a lot of damage late game
Cons
Other Shyvana players will laugh at you (until you go 7/0)
People will focus you inadvertently
damage is a bit less than other more Q based builds.
its an expensive build
not very good jungle power.
