Introduction

To begin with, I'd like to introduce who I am.

When I was in 10th grade in high school I had 2 games on my computer: StarCraft BroodWar and WarCraft III. I mostly played StarCraft BroodWar 1v1 melee, and never really played WarCraft III: Frozen Throne. I felt like it was a waste of money for quite a long time. Until I found out that my Korean friend named Joon played a game called DotA (Defense of the Ancient) on WarCraft III. At first I died alot, and he gave me 2 basic tips for me when i was a beginner.

Here were the noobie tips:
1) Start with a health regen item
2) Simply focus on just staying alive and not dying.

I ended up playing DotA for 3 years and dominating with many different heroes.

* In case you didn't know, League of Legends is based on DotA *

Since you are reading my guide, I'd like to explain some things about my play style:
1) I like to kill
2) I'm really used to getting rampage and legendary and godlike and whatnot
3) I use my intelligence to maximize my ability to bring my opponents to death and myself and my team to victory

I know this sounds like "oh he's cool, he's just bragging about how pro he is and stuff"

but no, I'm actually being serious. I play this game because I like to be OP and kill a lot.

I realized this 1 screenshot wasn't sufficient enough. So here is another one:

=O! oh noez !!! I revealed my Summoner name :[ !!!!!!

I know... I know... You don't have to tell me... Just... AHHHH!!!

Think about it, It's Dominion mode

What does Dominion mode mean?
It means several things:
1) The goal is to kill your opposing team's heroes so you can freely capture points. You have to maximize your ability to slay heroes. With Nunu, this means get cooldown reduction so you can spam your iceblast and ultimate.

2) You want to be fast, so you can get around the map and assist your teammates in battles ASAP, or prevent backdoor captures, or anything else! You need to be able to get around places fast. Thankfully, Nunu has his "w" ability (or 'Blood Boil') which allows him to get away with cooldown reduction boots which are (+ 2 movement speed) and still be very fast.

3) Before every game, perform a ritual or a prayer in the hopes that you will get good teammates who are not complete noobs or trolls. Just kidding, that wouldn't help anyways. In reality, if you solo queue, you will STILL sometimes get matched with very bad players or straight up evil people who will make you lose the game regardless of how good you play.

Runes

I'm just going to say, If you don't have the IP to get all these runes it's completely fine.
Seriously, Don't worry about it. I still dominate without these runes.

Cooldown Reduction is ideal for playing Nunu in Dominion, the less your cooldowns are, the more you can spam your abilities.

Why only cooldown reduction?
The way I see it, if you're going to get runes to buff up your stats / abilities you shouldn't get a bunch of different runes to get a little boost for many things.

Get them all for the same thing and get a big boost that will be significant!

Masteries

The reasons behind the masteries selected for Nunu in this guide is for the cooldown reduction.

9 points in offense give you even more cooldown reduction and 10% magic penetration.

These are the best masteries for this build.

Items

I like to start the game with "Catalyst the Protector"

Which does the following: +290 Health +325 Mana UNIQUE Passive: On leveling up, restores 250 Health and 200 Mana over 8 seconds.

You will be slow as hell! But it's all worth it.

As soon as game starts: make your way to windmill (middle capture point of top lane)

When you get there snowball someone in the face! (I know it's called iceblast, I just like saying that. lol...)

You will have this
Passive: On leveling up, restores 250 Health and 200 Mana over 8 seconds.

This kicks *** since early game you level up a lot very quickly.

The rest of the items are self-explanatory:
They boost your cooldown reduction and HP.

They also give you certain boosts like:

Frozen Mallet
+700 Health +20 Attack Damage UNIQUE Passive: Your basic attacks slow your target's Movement Speed by 40% for 2.5 seconds (30% for ranged attacks).

That's cool... You slow them with your ice blast and you keep slowing them with regular hits... Nice...

Sunfire Cape
+450 Health +45 Armor UNIQUE Passive: Deals 35 magic damage per second to nearby enemies.

Yay, it hurts them just being next to you. LOL!!!

You will have plenty of HP to tank LOTS of damage.

Last game I played doing this build it took 4 members of their team to kill me, and while i was being slowed walking the other direction (attempting to run away), it took them almost 30 seconds to kill me. xD!!!!!

Skill Sequence

AT THE START OF THE GAME:
    • 1 point on 'q'
    • 2 points on 'e'

max out your 'e' ("Ice Blast") asap (This is your primary ability for harassing)

as far as when to level up your "q" (Consume) or "w" (Bloodboil) I alternated it back and forth on the skill sequence because it all depends on what you prefer to have. The ability to regen from creeps or better attack speed and movement speed.

I prefer "w" for the movement speed bonus mostly, and i dont max out on "q" till i have to.

Having incredible health regen from eating creeps can be super helpful, so choose wisely depending on the situation you are in. The downfall about it is that you can only heal with consume when you are around creeps, and you won't always be around creeps.

You can spam your "w" (Blood Boil) all the time, it takes little cooldown reduction to make it so you can use it again before it even runs out. It's also very awesome to use blood boil on one of your allies as you will both get the buff. :)!

and OFCOURSE, always get your new ultimate ability level as soon as it's available. (LOL DUH!!)

Summoner Spells

As for your summoner spells, get Flash and Heal.

Why Flash?
Flash in the middle of the battle and USE YOUR ULTIMATE!!!

BA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Why Heal?
Mostly since it helps keep your allies health up early game when you and your teammates are trying to capture windmill at the start of the game.

Getting windmill first gives you the initial advantage in the game. I view capturing windmill at the start as very important.
