Greetings summoner, my name is DontFeedTheYeti and this is my very first League of Legends build. I am here to provide you with what I think is arguably the best way to play Nunu - The Yeti Rider. This build focuses mainly on 3 things: Ability Power (AP), Spell Penetration (SP) and Survivability. I am not a professional League of Legends player but I maintain the majority of my wins when I play Nunu so I am not saying that I am the best player, I make mistakes just like everyone else. If you find anything wrong with this build that you think may be out of place or something you think doesn't suite then please feel free to leave me constructive criticism below. Ok lets get started!
The Freljord is an unforgiving place, a mountainous land covered in snow and ice. Travel, especially in the winter, can be very dangerous. The elements often claim even those who have spent their entire lives there. The boy known as Nunu is one of those who fell prey to such tragedy. One day when he was a young child, Nunu rode on his father's back as they returned from a trapping expedition in the mountains. An unexpected blizzard came upon them, forcing them to seek refuge in a cave. The tempest lasted for days. Nunu's father had to leave to find food, but never returned. Eventually the blizzard cleared and the young child lay dying on the mountainside. Fortunately, this was the land of the yetis, powerful beasts with whom Nunu's father had secured an arrangement for safe passage. A young yeti boy named Willump found Nunu and brought him home. From then on, Nunu was raised by the yetis. When the League of Legends was formed, the yetis knew they needed a champion. Riding his brother Willump, Nunu became that champion.

Pros and Cons
Arguably the best damage in the game.
Amazing health for such a good damage dealer.
Movement and Attack Speed increase. (Blood Boil)
2 Nuke abilities. (Ice Blast and Absolute Zero)
Significant survivability. (Consume)
Nunu can also Consume Annie's Tibbers and Heimerdingers turrets. This is very enjoyable and beneficial.
Mana regen can be a complication.
Usually a main target. (Everyone wants you dead, especially if your fed.)
Your ultimate can be stopped by any stun.
Exhaust - I find that exhaust is very needed. Even though you do have Ice Blast which slows your enemy for a short time. Exhaust is a great spell because it not only slows them by 40% for 3 seconds it also makes them have a 100% miss chance for those 3 seconds as well which can be a life saver. Also, if you stack a Ice Blast with Exhaust you have a 90% speed decrease.
Exhaust - 40% speed decrease and 100% miss chance for 3 seconds.
Ice Blast - 50% speed decrease for 4 seconds.
Total: 90% speed over 4 seconds if properly stacked with Ice Blast and Exhaust.
Heal - Heal isn't a summoner spell that I find that you need with Nunu considering he has
Consume - The Yeti takes a bite out of target minion, dealing heavy damage to it and restoring his own health. (This spell gets very life saving around level 3 and 4.)
Teleport - Teleport can be a game changer. If used teleport properly you can save your teammates or even help them get enemy champions down with a very notorious spell and skill combo.
Teleport to nearest ally minion or turret | Blood Boil ally champion | Choose enemy champion(s) | Ice Blast enemy champion (exhaust if necessary) | Finish your enemy with a tasty Absolute Zero. This could get you 1/2/3 or even 4 kills if placed properly.
Cleanse - Cleanse is a good spell to do 2 things.
1. Cleanse will clear off any debuff that has been placed onto your character. Which in turn gives your more survivabilty.
2. Cleanse can help you get up in the enemies face to kill them. By taking off a stun, slow, taunt, fear, snare, sleep and immobilizer can really help you chase down your enemy.
Clarity - This is a option if you think that your Nunu strongly needs more mana throug out the game. I do not recommend this, but it is an option.
Ignite - Ignite is a great way to get that final touch! Ignite can also help you out dps your opponent and burn them down whilst applying all of your skills. Not to mention the Magic Resist and Healing Reduce is a huge help especially over the 5 seconds. I strongly recommend this.
You can play around with whatever runes suite your play style but Nunu focuses on Ability Power, Spell Penetration, Survivability. As far as runes go, a little bit more Cooldown Reduction wouldn't hurt. But you can build your rune book to your play style.
