Riven became a leader amongst her peers, poster child of the Noxian spirit. So exceptional was her passion that the High Command recognized her with a black stone rune sword forged and enchanted with Noxian sorcery. The weapon was heavier than a kite shield and nearly as broad - perfectly suited to her tastes. Soon after, she was deployed to Ionia as part of the Noxian invasion.

What began as war quickly became extermination. Noxian soldiers followed the terrifying Zaunite war machines across fields of death. It wasn't the glorious combat for which Riven trained. She carried out the orders of her superiors, terminating the remnants of a beaten and fractured enemy with extreme prejudice. As the invasion continued, it became clear that the Ionian society would not be reformed, merely eliminated. During one bitter engagement, Riven's unit became surrounded by Ionian forces. They called for support as the enemy closed in around them. What they received instead was a barrage of biochemical terror launched by Singed. Riven watched as around her Ionian and Noxian alike fell victim to an unspeakably gruesome fate. She managed to escape the bombardment, though she could not erase the memory. Counted dead by Noxus, she saw an opportunity to start anew. She shattered her sword, severing ties with the past, and wandered in self-imposed exile - on a quest to seek atonement and a way to save the pure Noxian vision in which she believed.

Riven is a chaser short and sweet now they are many ways to play her such as atmogs, attack speed, so and so forth the most effective way is to play lane riven carry Due to the fact that currently riven has the best early game in League very easy to harass and not take any dmg what so over due to valor.

Basic Ad runes for ad fighters(no mana)

The fact is the attack dmg runes let your burst go a little further than normal and will let you control any other riven that might be in the game (thought their aren't many)

Attack speed is for your passive runic blade which is basic a free sheen

Cooldown is for you E and Q so you can effectively get in and get out

Due to the fact that riven does not have mana it is not necessary to go into the utility tree unless you want massive health regen for some reason.

The basic 21/9/0 for ad fighters

Lane riven is completely different for jungle riven and there are various ways to play lane riven and jungle but the most effective for your team are probably the ones above.

Maxing Valor allows you to negate tower shoots at a very early level or normal abilities that would kill you I.e Karthus ult Broken wings do not need to be maxed for the point is it's kinda worthless if all u can do is Q.

User preference i tend to slide next to exhaust and ignite due to the fact that i have get a ways such as valor, broken wings and some times even ki-burst

Jungle riven due to the fact that most people aren't use to seeing a riven or a jungle riven for that matter it is easy for your opponents to miss judge your power and making for easy ganks

Lane riven Do your best remember its ranked now how much dmg you can take with out dying or how much pressure you can put on a turret before getting injured

Pros

Not many people play riven
She is op
She has the best early game and is currently the best jungler

Cons

She is a unique champ it will be awhile before you get the hang of it

Riven due to her indescribable strong early game doesn't need to much creep farm at the lower lvls however having non will come back to haunt you so try and at least at least get 2 a wave more if possible but don't starve your teammate either

Jungling route

Golems-Gank bot-gank mid-back buy-wolves gank top-blue-back buy-red-gank bot-break bots turret ending the lane/jungle phase still go into the jungle to farm and make sure you give your ap carry blue now or you can take it either way

Riven can take a hit so don't be afraid to you can initiate team fights and walk out with still 75% hp and probably a couple kills(Depends on if u get ksed or not)

Broken wings- is a 3 part ability which on the third use knocks enemies back

Ki-burst is a stun that has a really short cooldown

Valor- is a shield that goes of your attack damage

Blade of the exile is a 2 part ult the first makes your aoe abilities (all your abilities) have a longer aoe and the second sends a wind scar which if aimed properly does a **** ton of dmg

Like i said early try and get at least 2 creeps a wave early game it will help

Riven is a carry and a chaser remember that when you step on the fields of justice
