Hello and welcome to my first guide on Mobafire. I've been playing this game for quite some time now. There is a few champions I really like and one of them is Pantheon. I love eating squishy champions face with him. Mostly I'm inspired by different builds on Mobafire and build my own build according to what works best.
When ever you manage to play this champion right, I'm sure you will be called OP and so on. But honestly, compared to a lot of champions it is really not that bad. I mean look at Morde, Vlad and so on. So just ignore the whiners and keep on playing this guy, since I doubt a nerf to him is incomming.

::: Spells :::
Pantheon hurls his spear at an opponent, dealing 16 / 28 / 40 / 52 / 64 damage plus 100 / 115 / 130 / 145 / 160 % of his attack in physical damage.
Spear shot gives a good load of damage and can be used to herrash with. If the enemy is escaping with very low hp it's an easy kill with spear shot.
Aegis of Zeonia
Pantheon leaps at an enemy and bashes the enemy with his shield dealing 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+100% of ability power)and stunning them for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 second(s). Pantheon also instantly refreshes his Aegis Protection.
basically use this to enter a fight. The stun gives you the opportunity to fire your heartseeker strike.
(Passive):Certain Death - Pantheon gains 100% critical strike chance against targets below 15% of their max health.(Active): Pantheon focuses and deals 5 swift strikes in front of him, dealing 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 damage 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 % percent of his weapon damage in physical damage per strike. This attack deals double damage to champions.
The reason to play panth. The damage output from is just insane. Use it after stunning ur enemy, or to farm creeps.
Pantheon gathers his strength and then leaps high into the air, crashing down at the target area a few seconds later. Deals up to 400 / 700 / 1000 (+100% of ability power) magic damage to units at the center (down to 33% at the edge) and slows them by 35% for 1 second.
Mostly use this to enter battles. combinated with Aegis of Zeonia and heartseeker strike it's really deadly. It can be used as a defensive spell as well since it's faster than recall.
::: Items :::
I start out with a Long Sword. The extra damage for him works out nicely, and defensive stuff or mana regen aren't needed (If you pick clarity).
At first trip back pick up Brutalizer and boots. For boots I normally pick Mercury Threads, but Boots of swiftness is a nice alternative if the enemies aren't heavy on stuns. I've seen alot buy Berzerger greaves, but in my eyes the extra attack speed is just a waste - Pantheon doesn't benefit a lot from attack speed.
Now start getting your Last Whisper. One of the latest patches changed this item, and its now really really good for Pantheon. Armor penetration and attack damage is everything you want.
After Last Whisper is bought finish your Ghostblade. Remember to use it's active on towers and situations where you need to catch someone, or get away.
Now it's time for some heavy damage. Get 3 BF swords. Dont finish any of them, untill you got all three of them. Now make them into 2 bloodthirsters and 1 black cleaver. You could make 3 bloodthirsters, but it's a bit overkill, so go for the black cleaver instead.
::: Summoner Spells :::
I decide to go with Flash and Clarity. Normally I use flash, when somebody manages to get out of my range when I use ultimate. So then Flash + Aegis of Zeonia. Clarity is picked, since Pantheon can be very mana dependant from time to time. At start it gives you the chance to herrash a lot and at late game it's good if your about to run oom or dont have enough mana to use your ultimate.
Other things could be picked if you feel alright on mana. Exhaust for example or ignite to help your ganking.
::: Runes :::
Runes to Pantheon is pretty straight forward.
Armor Penetration... - You want a lot of ArP and runes are an easy way to increase your ammount of Armor Penetration.
Dodge... - Go for defensive here since the aggresive seals are so bad compared to the defensive ones.
Magic resist... - Again go for defensive since the aggresive glyphs are so bad. If you dont want to buy magic resist runes other things are alright aswell.
Armor Penetration... - Pretty obvious again since you want the armor penetration. Attack damage runes are really not that great and attack damage is easier to get from items, so go for the Armor Penetration.
::: Strategy :::
I'll make this short and just tell something about the basics. Experience from yourself will make you able to make your own strategy.
At start try to herrash as much as possible with spear shot. While level 4 or so start herrashing with stun + heartseeking strike. A lot of people underestimate the damage output from this combination, but its really deadly.
Later in the game there will normally be a lot of teamfights. Time your ultimate and jump into fights with it. It gives a nice damage output and gives you the opportunity to stun someone. When your about to land be ready to jump/stun + heartseeker strike the enemy nearest you or with lowest hp.
Be aware of your passive. Remember that attacking at a tower normally makes you very vulnerable, but the blocks give you a better chance to kill and still survive.
