This is a nice alternative to a tank build. It offers speed and damage with a nice variety of escape.

I chose these runes to fill in where masteries failed and also to emphasize Alistar's need for mana.

Masteries

This defensive build allows for greater survivability when harassing enemy champions. The buffs allow you to continue damage even when out of or low on mana.

Attack speed and damage is key to this build.

Summoner Spells

It only makes sense to have flash for getting past enemies to use your headbutt to knock him back towards your allies. Ignite is for continue damage and harassment.
