well in top lane you can farm under tower very well with turrets but in a one v one you will need to be able to kite the top laner around so your turrets can mash his health you can blind/stun him or her to keep them in range of your turrets if you either need to run away or to keep them in turret range i also recommend to take exhaust to slow them even more.

in lane you will need to use your w to poke the other champion or champions also remember never over extend too much heimerdinger doesn't have a great escape abiltie .

the turrets you have also proc the red buff true damage and slow so its great to have it they.

remember its all about kiting . i wish you look on the summoners rift i hope you find this use full like it has me enjoy.

this champion can turtle really well if needed your turrets make farming in tower and amazing and the other champion will have a hard time tower diving you cus of your ult slow and blind/stun remember also your passive procs with health regen.

preaty much build the abyssal scepter early instead of the rabadons deathcap build that a bit later on thsi will also help if the other team has a lot of ap on it.
