Introduction
There's a few things to keep in mind when reading this guide:
Rammus is a tank. You can build this champion any way, but at the end of the game he was to be a tank because that is how Rammus works. Rammus is good both jungling and laning, but I prefer laning with Rammus and that is the main focus of this guide. These are from my experience, my testing, and my opinion. If something works for you, and you like it better, then do that. This game is about strategy, and strategies changes over time.
Pros Vs. Cons
Pros:
- An exceptional tank
- Easy to play
- Can save teammates from dying several times
- Really hard to defeat with Defensive Ball Curl activated
- He is a teenage mutant ninja turtle!
Cons:
- Easy to play yes, but just a bit hard to master
- Tenacity can get annoying
- Very, very often banned in rankeds. At least in the lower ELOs
- Just a bit vulnerable than other tanks when Defensive Ball Curl is deactivated.

For me the runes doesn't really matter, as long as they have some sort of a relation to armor then it's all fine by me. the runes that I have chosen are:
Greater Quint of Resilience x3
Greater Glyph of Shielding x9
Greater Seal of Resilience x9
Greater Mark of Fortitude x9
Why I picked them? Because half of the runes have good influence early in the game and the other half have good influence in the mid to late game.

So why did I choose those items listed above? and why at that sequence? Well getting boots at the start of the game is not that important but getting magic resistance from mercury treads is (depending on who you are up against, you might have to get ninja tabi instead of mercury treads if you're up against a lot of AD champs). After that I would recommend heart of gold. You would think that 5 gold per second is nothing but it does accumulate at the end and make a big difference. I only got this item because it helps a lot when buying items that are high in price. Third item will be thornmail because of its amazing passive, since Rammus has a skill that reflects damage then why not increase its effectiveness with thornmail? Fourth will be Banshee's veil, just to add on more magic resistance, health, mana and a shield that blocks an incoming ability. Like any good tank, they need a good amount of health, so I think that at this point a warmog would be very useful. At this point I would replace heart of gold with Randuin's Omen to add a bit more health and armor. at this point your magic resis should be around 100 and to finish that particular stat off I would buy Force of nature and sell my boots for it. The last item I would get is thornmail or Frozen heart. I would recommend getting thornmail first then selling it for a Frozen heart.
In conclusion, Rammus is the best tank in the game. Uhmmmmmm......don't know what else to say. My written guide isn't that long, well, I mean, this is my first time writing a guide here. So, I'll try to expand it alittle in the future, so for now here is my guide, if you like it or hate it just leave me a good rating and leave some nice comments on how I can improve it.
